Water is Life

In my last #WednesdayWalk post, I was writing about my walk around the town of Baja in Hungary... I mentioned that I had to do some paperwork there, and as you may know, you always have to make 2 trips to any office... :) The first one is to leave tons of papers, copies, documents, etc... and the second time is to go back and pick up 1 tiny piece of paper (ID, passport, health card, etc...) So, this was the second time that I had to go there...

In the first post, I also mentioned that I didn't check out the "better part" of the town, which is the one where you can see some nature... The previous post was full of buildings and town architecture (which is also nice in a certain way), but in this post, I would like to show the other part of the town where people go to relax, and maybe cool down in the summer...

The river Sugovica has a very important role in the life of town citizens... It is a 12km short river that flows into the river Danube, but even being that small, it is full of fish that is used in local restaurants for preparing tasty fish dishes...

Also, this small river is an oasis for many birds which I didn't get a chance to take a photo of with my mobile phone... If you take a closer look at some of the images, maybe you can spot them...

On the hot summer days, you can jump to the town beach that is also located on this small river! There is no better way to cool down than jump into the water which isn't that cold at all... I was on this walk earlier in the morning, so people were just coming to it... But, you can see how beautiful this white sand beach is!

Where do you want to go?

If you go over the bridge from the photos you can get to the bug camping area and, already mentioned, local fish restaurants... That area is kind of a small peninsula with a lot of nightlife, but also, a forest part where animals can have their own habitat...

I didn't understand exactly for what this building serves... Maybe for lifeguards?

At this moment, as lack of rain, the river Danube, and river Sugovica, have low water levels and the water is warm...

This sculpture is a reminder of the year 1956 when the river flooded the area and 360 families were affected...

This looks like the beginning of the long road, but it was the end of the road for me... If I have continued to the end, I would arrive at the river Danube and the place where the small river Sugovica disappears in it... Maybe next time I will have more time to explore that part of this small town...
