Schloss Neuhaus / Neuhaus Castle [DE/ENG]

Hallo zusammen,
heute nehme ich Euch mit auf einen Spaziergang für den #wednesdaywalk rund um das Schloss Neuhaus im gleichnamigen Ort, welcher ein Stadtteil von Paderborn ist. Die #wednesdaywalk Challenge wurde initiiert von @tattoodjay und auch Ihr könnt hier mitmachen.
Das Wasserschloss stammt aus der frühen Weserrenaissance und ist von einem schönen rekonstruierten Barockgarten umgeben.

Hello everyone,
Today I'm taking you on a #wednesdaywalk around Neuhaus Castle in the town of the same name, which is a district of Paderborn. This #wednesdaywalk Challenge is initiated by @tattoodjay and you can join it here.
The moated castle dates back to the early Weser Renaissance and is surrounded by a beautiful reconstructed baroque garden.

Wie man bereits am Schild am Haupteingang erkennen kann, ist eine Realschule im Schloss Neuhaus ansässig, was ich total klasse finde.
Auf den Tafeln im Durchgang konnten die Schüler es kaum treffender ausdrücken: "Erst durch Schüler lebt das Schloss". Ich denke, man kann die Schüler dieser Schule für Ihre Lernumgebung beneiden.
Schön, dass so ein Ort für diesen Zweck genutzt wird!
In was für einem tollen Ambiente die Schüler ihre Pausen verbringen dürfen...da müsste das Lernen doch gleich leichter fallen ;)

As you can already see from the sign at the main entrance, a secondary school is located in Schloss Neuhaus, which I find totally great.
On the boards in the passageway, the students could hardly express it more aptly: "Only through students lives the castle". I think one can envy the students of this school for their learning environment.
It's nice that such a place is used for this purpose!
In what a great ambience the students can spend their breaks...that should make learning easier ;)

Die Gartenseite: / The garden side:

Nun kommen wir zu der Gartenseite des Schlosses.
Da 1994 die Landesgartenschau auf dem Gelände stattgefunden hat, wurden das Schloss und die Nebengebäude zu diesem Anlass restauriert. Entstanden sind hierbei der Schloss- und Auenpark, in dem in den Sommermonaten viele kulturelle Veranstaltungen stattfinden. Bei unserem Spaziergang wurde gerade eine Theaterstück für Kinder auf der Freilichtbühne im Auenpark aufgeführt.

Now we come to the garden side of the castle.
Since the State Garden Show took place on the grounds in 1994, the castle and the outbuildings were restored for the occasion. This resulted in the creation of the castle and floodplain park, where many cultural events take place during the summer months. During our walk, a play for children was being performed on the open-air stage in the Auenpark.

Entdecker des Morphiums: / Discoverer of morphine:

Diese Büste vor dem Schloss ziegt das Antlitz von Friedrich Wilhelm Adam Sertürner, ein deutscher Apotheker aus Neuhaus, der das Morphium entdeckte, in dem er es aus dem Opium extrahierte.

This bust in front of the castle shows the face of Friedrich Wilhelm Adam Sertürner, a German pharmacist from New House, who discovered morphine by extracting it from opium.

Mit den Palmen vor dem Schloss und dem blauen Himmel bekommt es doch irgendwie einen mediterranen Character und man hat das Gefühl an einem ganz anderen Ort zu sein.

With the palm trees in front of the castle and the blue sky it somehow gets a Mediterranean character and you have the feeling to be in a completely different place.
