Here's my first post on the #Wednesdaywalk community, I will like you to address if there anything I'm not doing well.
Today turned out to be quite a good day for me. I woke up bright and early, driven by a long list of tasks awaiting me. You see, I juggle being a freelancer and a teacher, and with the summer season here, my schedule is tighter than ever with lessons and various activities. I genuinely enjoy both my roles, but I've been yearning for some extra moments to myself. I tend to lean towards indoor activities and often find myself cooped up at home or work, avoiding unnecessary stress.
Nevertheless, I decided to break away from my routine today and make it unique. I took a leisurely walk along the streets, something I rarely do.
You see, these streets aren't the bustling ones of Lagos Island or the exclusive Banana Island. No, these are the quieter streets of Arepo in Ogun State (the Lekki of Ogun state, Nigeria). My main intention was to relish the beauty of the calm surroundings; checking through infrastructures and buildings.
As I walked, something caught my eye – a distinctive estate named Bayo Oyede Estate. Among the many estates in Arepo, this one stood out due to its serene ambiance and the elegance of the houses.
While my attention was fixed on this estate, I stumbled upon something unexpected – a house constructed entirely from shipping containers. I was genuinely amazed and taken aback by this unique design. I was really perplexed that I had to find means of getting a picture of the actual building eventhough I wasn’t permitted; still tried enough to have a glimpse.
Well, I’ve seen container-made shops but seeing a container-made house is like a shocking moments for me. Sincerely, moments like these that remind me of the diverse and creative ways pepiople choose to live their lives. As I continued my walk, I couldn't help but appreciate the small yet remarkable wonders that can be found in unexpected corners, in Arepo.
I crowned all my effort with a sachet water before I went home to prepare for work . Yes, work ! Off I go!
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day
