Wednesday Walk - Walking around the Snow in Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce
My first snow experience happened at home (in the Brittany area of France) together with my firstborn while I was pregnant with the second. The first snow experience of my second baby happened in the French alps. We rented a chalet in Saint-Nicolas-de-Veroce and we were near the ski station.
Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce
According to Wikipedia:
Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce is a former commune of Haute-Savoie in the Val Montjoie between Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and Les Contamines-Montjoie. Located about ten kilometers from the city center of Saint-Gervais, the municipality of Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce was attached to the latter on December 29, 1973.

Saint Nicolas de Veroce - a village resort
Go skiing at the Saint Nicolas de Véroce village resort, enjoy a gigantic area in the heart of the Alps.
Saint Nicolas de Véroce is a resort in Haute Savoie which is more than 1180 meters above sea level. It provides access to the “Évasion Mont Blanc” ski area which culminates between 1150 and 2353 meters above sea level by combining the areas of St Gervais and Megève with that of St Nicolas.

The Church
Before the ski station, we passed by the Church of Saint-Nicolas-de-Veroce.
The Famous Hotel
Before we went to a holiday, I saw a documentary about this hotel and the ski holiday, everything in French. The Armancette Hotel is very expensive. I was inside the car when I took the photos. If you want to get to know about the hotel, a link is provided after the photos.

Schuss Bar
We arrived at the ski station but Schuss Bar was closed, we weren't able to get some drinks. Here are few photos of my son walking around the snow with a view of Mont Blanc.
My Little Playground
Here, I'm showing you my little playground where I practiced my ski. I started on the beginner slope.

The Picnic Area
In some days, we also had our picnic. My husband woke up at 9AM so that he could ski earlier in the more professional slopes. I woke up at 12NN as the kids and I were still sleeping before that. We just brought food to the picnic area with the preparation made by Mamie and Papie (the grandparents). I started my ski practice at 2PM and ended at 5PM.
I was 9 months postpartum so my daughter needed me for breastfeed. And my son was happy to walk around with Papie and Filou (the dog).
The Ski Area
I made a mistake of skiing this area, a.k.a the intermediate slope with the lack of skills. Everyone thought they would bring me to the hospital.
While on a break, my husband taught our son to ski at the beginner slope.
He was very happy to ski for the first time.
During our first trip to the French alps, we stayed for one week. For about 5 days, I was just here in the afternoon practicing my ski.

The first snow experience happened at home while pregnant with the second and carrying the firstborn child. Hehe! I think I'll do another Wednesday Walk story about it. :D But I was excited skiing in the snow for the first time. I like that there are no tall buildings of hotels in the French Alps.
Beautiful place with very nice view, unique hotel and church. Happy with family. Thank you.
Indeed, the French alps are such a nice view.
