How are you hive friends wherever you are, I hope you stay healthy and successful. Thank you #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay as host. Some time ago I went to a place called Bendung Lepen, which is located in Mrican Giwangan Village, Yogjakarta city not for from the Giwangan Yogjakarta terminal.
A dam on the river flow namely Kali Gajah wong, by the local community especially the youth to change the Bendung (weir) area into a clean environmental can improve the economy of the surrounding community previously.
The Bendung lepen irrigation area had not been organised as it is now and previously there was a lot of the Bendung lepen is not only as an irrigation channel to irrigate rice fields but also as a tourist attraction and as a balancer for the ecosystem.
I tried to enter the Bendung lepen area which has becomes a tourist spot, visitors don't pay the arrangement in this tourist area is quite good by utilizing swice gates as a control by working the water that enters the irrigation is filtered including filtering waste.
The use of land that is not so large by the management is made into a place to build a gazebo, a place selling food, drinks, prayer rooms, toilets, health rooms and that facilities were quite complete.
I saw lots of fish which were deliberately cultivated by the local community as an attraction fot visitors. The types of fish that are cultivated are Nila, Gurame, tombone. I come here in the afternoon, because in the afternoon the sun is not hot enough, visitor come to this place usually in the morning or afternoon.
This place is suitable for bringing families, especially children they play with quite a lot of fish. The manager also provides fishing equipment, if there are visitors who have a hobby of fishing only if the visitor gets fish from fishing they must be paid by weighing the fish first, then the fish they catch are paid according to the weight of the fish.
Those who sell in this place are local people with the aim of earning income and improving the surrounding economy.
Thank you very much.
Enjoy a good day.
