As I mentioned quite some times I live in an urban area in the western part of The Netherlands.
Our country is known for it's high population density. In 2020 there were 423 per square kilometer (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Population_density). But that is over the entire country.
The province I live in has a population density of 1239 per square kilometer.
Although it really can be crowded governments know there is a need for nature, so nature is often integrated into urban areas (or the other way around).
I often decide to keep out building when I shoot photos for my #wednesdaywalk, but I decided not to this time.
Here is a shot of the polder which is adjacent to a residential area. The polder is a nice place to walk and the waters are full of birds.
The windmill dates from 1787 and was used as a water pump until 1924. Then it was replaced by a mechanical pump. It now only has historic value.
The polders have a lot of water and the watersides are full of reed.
The summer has ended and most of the flowers and plants are starting to dry out like this "holy rope".
The polders are grazed by a herd of sheep. You see that more often around here; natural grazing by sheep instead of mechanical lawnmowers.
There was rain on the way, so it was a bit cloudy. Luckily I was home before the rain started to fall.
As I mentioned there usually are a lot of birds here, but apart from a couple of ducks and some herons it was a bit quiet. I did spot a white egret in the distance, but unfortunately I couldn't get a clear shot of him. Maybe next time.
Thanks for joining me on my #wednesdaywalk!
Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I'm sharing my photos on Hive, Noise.Cash & APPICS.
I would love to read what you think of my photos in the comments.

.Hello dear friend @friendlymoose good day
You live in a very beautiful country, besides, you chose a beautiful place for your walk
Beautiful shots. I appreciate you letting us know
have a beautiful day
Thank you my friend.
Have a great day too!
Green spaces are very necessary to take run-off from tarred roads or excess water in villages when rains do arrive.
Looking historically at countries that left their rivers, swamps, natural mangroves to not be tampered with by man have stood better against flooding, mostly in the Eastern block countries.
Interesting to see how close the homes are to enjoy the open environment in excellent photography.

Thank you!
Surely when people completely pave their back- and front yards like a lot of people do. Water needs to go somewhere.
Nature will find a path, normally devastating consequences, people never learn.

.The place seems very calm. And as your said, it was pretty quiet that day, the photos are showing the same. Loved the rainy vibe.
I agree with you, when there is free time choosing to spend going to the settlements, as you said, there is a lot that can be captured with a camera while we are out in nature. Good day to you, friend.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Have a good day too and have some !PIZZA too ๐
