I really like the #wednesdaywalk tradition. It's hardly ever a real walk on a Wednesday (this one was yesterday), but at least I post it on Wednesday.

So, yesterday it was just below 0 degrees Celsius in the Netherlands, but because of the clear blue sky and the sun it didn't even feel that cold.
I have a few favourite spots in the neighbourhood, but this day I thought I'd make a walk around a nearby lake.

It was in the afternoon, but there was still frost on the floor. At least at the places the sun couldn't reach.

You can see clearly which leaves of the blackberry plant caught some rays of sun and which didn't.

I took out my macro extension tubes to make some close ups of the ice crystals. These are so cool to see in close up.

The clear blue sky and the sun reflected nicely in the calm water of the lake. I was glad I brought my sunglasses with me.

Need I say more. This road goes around the whole lake which is a roundtrip of about 2,75 kilometer.

There are always a lot of water birds in this lake. This seems like a group of geese to me.
