The past few days were quite rainy here in The Netherlands. The dry summer season has really ended. Nature really needed the water and it needs even more actually.
The rain and my busy schedule were the reason I didn't go for a #wednesdaywalk as I use to do.
But today I did go for a walk. I had to hurry a bit because some heavy rain showers are on the way again according to the rain radar ๐ณ
I made a walk through a couple of different smaller parks in my neighbourhood.
One of them has a really narrow path which was overgrown with plants during the summer.
It looks very nice, but the leaves were still wet from the rain this morning.
Autumn has really started. It is getting more wet in the parks and that's when the fungi starts to pop up. This one was formed on a tree trunk. It looks just like a flower.
In a larger park there was this hovering tree trunk. It wasn't actually hovering; it was one of the many trees that got blown over by the heavy storms in spring. When the fallen trees aren't in the way they leave them where they are since they are a source of food for all kinds of insects.
A bit further on the route I spotted even more fungi.
I also spotted this grey heron on a lamp post. I thought it was a funny sight. I usually only spot them near water.
Near the end of my walk the sky cleared up a bit. I walked past a bit chestnut tree which was filled with large bolsters. It won't be long until these will open up and the chestnuts will fall out. When my kids were young we always collected them to create figures with string and
skewers with them. But they are too old for that now.
I hope you enjoyed my walk in the parks!
Thanks for this great initiative @tattoodjay!
Photographing is my passion. Although I like photography in general, nature photography is one of my favourite subjects. I often go out with my camera for a hike to capture the beauty of nature.
I'm sharing my photos on Hive, Noise.Cash & APPICS.
I would love to read what you think of my photos in the comments.

Some great nature there ๐
Indeed. And that in a quite urban area.
You've had a great walk indeed. Nature is beautiful and the wetness visible in your photos adds to it.
It's nice when nature can even provide you with memories about having fun with your kids when they were small, even if they are big now!
Thank you for sharing this with us!

Welcome ๐ค
You have good walk and great photography
Gosh, you live in a place with quite a lot of nature, it's really cozy, it must be really cold. I also lived in a place with lots of flora and fauna, the mornings climates are really nice.
Beautiful pictures, I loved the mushrooms. ๐๐คฉ๐
It's getting colder since it's becoming fall now, but I'm used to it.
Thanks for stopping by.
That looks like a wonderful park for a walk! The fungi that looks like a flower is amazing! ๐ฎ Great catch! I like roasted chestnuts! You probably can't harvest any of those since they're in a park, though, can you? What a lovely #wednesdaywalk ๐
Thanks! It surely is a nice place to go. These aren't sweet chestnuts though, so they are not edible. You can eat them, but they are really bitter.
I don't think there are rules for harvesting fungi. But it's not very common to pick them from a park indeed.
Thanks for stopping by!
