It has been freezing quite a bit here in the Netherlands in the past few days. And when the temperature gets been below zero degrees the fever comes up. The ice skating fever that is.
During my #wednesdaywalk today I noticed that a lot of the ponds in the park I went for a lunch break walk were already frozen.
They were covered with a thin layer of ice.
It also was a bit windy which made it feel extra cold. It was just below zero, bit it felt like -10.
Luckily I had brought my gloves and scarf.
The windy conditions also are the reason why the ice on the ponds isn't very smooth.
Despite the ice not being that smooth it still makes a nice picture. A bit further in the park I spotted two young boys that were trying to fund out wether the ice was thick enough. It brought back some childhood memories. Testingbthe ice with stones. Poking with a stick and eventually slowly trying to stand on the ice. It almost always went well except for that one time where I fell through the ice into the cold water. It was near the side and it wasn't that deep, but I was wet upto my waist.
I'm found it a bit too cold to watch if the same would happen to one of the boys.
Another great view was this flock of storks that gathered on a field near some houses. I heard an old lady that lives there often feeds the storks, so that is thecreason why they gather there.
I think they do need some extra food during these cold days. I don't knofvif they will stay here for the winter or fly to Portugal or even Northern Africa where the temperatures are better for them.
Thanks for joining me on my #wednesdaywalk!

Woah! Freezing? The heatwave in my country is alarming here in West Africa. I love the shot of the flock storks. They might end up leaving for Morocco π²π¦ if the freezing continue. Hope you enjoyed the work.
Happy New Yearππ.
A heatwave is the complete other end. I hope it doesn't get too bad with the heat.
Happy new year too!
I hope so too. We noticed a slight rain βοΈ yesterday. All good.

Wow amazing weather here at my place it is 6Β° and I never experienced temperature in -0. Enjoy your day mate. π
Thanks. Same to you!
From the photos I can see the cold! I don't like the cold very much, but this winter I promised myself to stay in the house more than outside
Oh, I really can't do that. I need some light and fresh air during the day.
I just put on some warm clothes and keep moving while outside.
Ohhhh beautiful landscape π.
