Hello and good day to all Wednesday Walkers!
The place for today’s walk is Naga City, Cebu Province, Philippines. I and my partner enjoy going to their park because it is situated by the bay and the park area is relaxing enough for a walk and just for enjoying our time together especially when we need a momentary change of place. Today, I am sharing with you some takes at Naga City Baywalk and park.
Thankfully, it wasn’t too hot on this day and there was a bit of overcast. We parked the motorcycle at the free parking spot. At this time of the day, it isn’t usually crowded yet.
I got attracted to the huge signage “Faith, Hope, Love.” I loved looking at the view with these meaningful words with the ships on anchor at a distance. I suddenly remembered our class sections in high school were named “Faith, Hope, and Charity.”
The Christmas tree is still standing strong but without the colorful decorations and lights. I was thinking perhaps they would still utilize it this coming December.
I noticed that there was also a flagpole, and I tried to take a picture of the flag while it was gently waving in the wind. I also admired how they take advantage of the sunlight by installing solar-powered lamp posts within the vicinity of the park. On the left, a vendor selling bottled water could be seen walking around the park.
I was just enjoying this moment while looking at every detail when my partner told me that an airplane was flying above us. It was heading to Mactan-Cebu International Airport. I captured that moment with the solar-powered lamp post.
What I also enjoy about this park is the view of the ships on anchor. There was a gentle sea breeze that made me feel more relaxed. This city is known for industries such as cement production, steel manufacturing, gas and chemical supply, and so on. That explains the presence of cargo vessels within this area. A manufacturing plant could be seen and more solar-powered lamp posts were installed along the car parking space.
At this point, we got thirsty and wanted to buy something refreshing. At the entrance part of the park, there are street foods and drinks available; in addition, toys and fancy jewelries could also be seen. I admire them for being so hardworking no matter what the weather is like and resilient in their daily challenges as sellers, too.
A man riding a bicycle with a sidecar passed by; this is type of short-distance transportation here and only covers interior streets. Early park visitors were also eating at this time while chitchatting with their buddies.
We bought cucumber-lemonade from this stall and it was a refreshing drink, it didn’t taste too sweet, somehow our thirst was quenched.
While walking around and drinking our juice, I saw several vendors selling different items. A vendor selling traditional cassava cracklings could be seen.
A vendor selling fresh buko (coconut) juice with milk placed in an icebox.
A vendor selling kites with bird and colorful design.
A vendor selling traditional ice cream while a young customer is waiting to be served.
A fruit vendor selling green mangoes and turnip. When sold at sidewalks, usually these fruits are pared and sliced then dipped in vinegar with salt. He just arrived at this moment and was still busy preparing.
As we continued our walk, I noticed a new structure was being built; a pay-to-use toilet and a stock room. Last time we were here, this was not erected yet.
We also saw a half-body statue of a previous mayor in this city. Adjacent to this is the playground area for kids.
As we can see, certain types of palm tree adorn this part of the park. The greenery around us made the walk more interesting.
That concludes my walk-blog for today. Next time, I will posting about the other parts of this area. It was a good time for me and my partner to go around and just enjoy the view. We enjoy going out for a walk when time allows, at least, to forget our worries and the concerns of daily living don’t feel so loud. While walking within the vicinity, I realized that life didn’t have to be perfect to enjoy each moment. Personally, I am continuously undergoing challenges, but at least right now, it feels fine especially with the support of my partner. I remembered the vendors who continued to do the daily grind of living; may I also be like them – to keep hoping for positive outcome in the future. Lastly, may the true meaning of “Faith, Hope, and Love” surround us every day so we can continue to live peacefully with one another.
Thank you very much for your time. I hope I made you smile with this post as part of #wednesdaywalk challenge. My heartfelt gratitude to @tattoodjay for supporting this community where we can share our walk experiences. See you all around and take care!

Hello... Yes, we enjoy going to this place for a walk especially in the evening if time permits.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message and kind support. 😊
👍🙂👍
That's a nice park. The signages are the highlights: faith, hope, and love. I would buy the coconut juice for that weather. As a person working from home, I can just walk there if I'm bored and burned out from sitting.
Hello... I agree, it's nice that they include those meaningful words in their park. Yes, coconut juice would have been a good choice also but we already had bought the other one. I feel the same way, I wish this park was just walking distance from home so we can go there easily for a walk and relaxation.
Thank you very much for dropping by today.😊💖
I just love parks that are free and accessible to the people, where we can just sit idly. I can't find it here in my city. There is one but it's not nice since there aren't a lot of trees and benches. Well, there is a park in the center of the city, but it's full of tricycle drivers and rugby boys. haha
