My brother came to the place where I live in order to attend an event related to his work. It was held at JPark Island Resort in Lapu-lapu City, Cebu. Family members were allowed to visit but pre-registration was required. Different employees from other agencies that belong to the same industry were also participants of the said event.
I would like to show you some parts of this resort as we took our walk at twilight. They also have a waterpark section but it was off limits at that time of the day. While they were having some finishing touches for the day's session, we took the chance to walk around some parts of the resort. Unfortunately, my phone doesn’t have a nice night vision camera feature, but we did our best to capture some precious moments.
The whole area is vast as the resort occupies acres of land. We began our walk at this point near a fountain with color changing fountain light. Their concrete signage stands on a sand behind us that is overshadowed by the leaves of big trees.
We walked towards the direction of the sea, some parts were dim. We saw a big pool as the attendant walked past us. Pool lounge chairs with umbrellas line up at the sides could be seen. If I am not mistaken the building consists of 11 floors. The lights were on and we were entertained by the beauty that the changing lights give to the whole surrounding. This pool area is also where they hold fire dance – a dance performance that incorporates fire as part of the dancers’ props. It hadn’t started yet at that time.
We walked further with the colorful view of the building accommodation behind us. This area here is not well-lit, it’s perfect for a romantic walk though… Different palm trees and coconut trees were planted to give shade and accent to its landscape. The grass green and well-maintained. I noticed small pebbles were embedded on a concrete pathway too so it was not slippery to walk on even walking on wet footwear.
A hammock hung peacefully, I distracted its peace for a short while and sat to have a souvenir shot. The rattan-like hammock painted in white was sturdy enough that it could carry two people. I could still see a bit of brightness from the sky which seem to go with the changing lights of the building. As young kids, I remember our parents would strictly command us to go inside when it was twilight because it was believed that bad elements would start to come out at this time especially that we lived in the countryside area that time. (Just a memory that crossed my mind...)
The walk continued towards the direction of the coast. Trees and different plants could be seen but not all were illuminated so we couldn’t capture them well. Far behind me, chairs and tables were also set up for customers who wish to dine. A cascading light in triangular form gives a nice effect from afar. I sat at this ledge; a retaining wall or a stone wall was used. A light illuminating the seawater that is in turquoise shade. We felt relaxed at this point because of the gorgeous view and their amazing landscape. Being near the sea is really therapeutic for me. The soft breeze hitting my face made me feel connected to the natural elements around me.
I checked my phone and my brother had sent me a message saying that their session was over. I told him we were still at the sea view section and he said that dinner vouchers were given by the association. (So, thank you so much my brother for including us in this plan🙂). Before meeting him at the entrance, I wanted to go to the boardwalk quickly. That time, I thought it was already our last chance to go to that part of the resort so I wanted to take the chance.
The boardwalk rail has a bamboo-like design and painted brown. Facing the sea, this is the left edge of the resort and the only thing that gives brightness to this area are the lamp posts with round bulbs. The dark part is the sea so we couldn’t see anything except for the twinkling lights at a far distance.
We took the precious moment to enjoy its beauty with the breeze gently blowing around us. We could only hear the soothing sound of small waves as it hit the stone wall. I wonder why there weren’t any hotel guests strolling around here at this time. At least, we had the space solely for our walk and picture-taking. I wanted to stay longer and chase this short moment of freedom which we don’t often experience. I was (and still) grateful for my brother as he is the most supportive one in the family. He chose to attend the seminar in Cebu so we could also get free pass to the resort. He wanted us to be part of this whole experience too.
It was really time to go back to have dinner with my brother so I switched back to reality mode. We walked the same path as we hurriedly went back to where he was waiting for us...
I hope I made you smile with this post as part of #wednesdaywalk challenge. My heartfelt gratitude to @tattoodjay for supporting this community where we can share our walk experiences. Thank you my Hive friends for coming here today. See you all around and take care!
