Those Beautiful Days All Together

Greetings, My dear Hive Fellows.

It has been several years, exactly more than 5 years I have been here in Beijing for my higher study. It was quite a big deal for me to survive here without the proper knowledge about life abroad. The initial days were not so troublesome, at least before the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic. But with the start of the breakout, life changed dramatically; it was a relentless, confined life for about two and a half years to maintain so many rules and regulations regarding the safety of the mass people gathering and personal precautions to stay safe from the disease. Most of the time during this period, it is just like nothing without any addition of beauty that our real life gives us the opportunity.

My university offers centralized teaching for the required course study for two semesters for a Master's and one semester for a PhD where all the international students live together and have a great life in the centralized campus in Beijing. After the centralized education, we are supposed to move to our predefined institutes where we do our research work under the supervision of our supervisors all around China, as there are several hundreds of institutes where students work on their research projects.

So, we were dozens of Bangladeshi students living together during the centralized course study time in 2019 when we all came to China almost at the same time. Also, there were several hundreds of foreigners to enjoy a greater life with so many activities together. Visiting new places, joining many events, cultural functions and many more. I visited several places in Beijing City at that time with much more enjoyment, but currently, I just visit by myself, which often becomes boring at some points.

This event was a cultural presentation part after the University welcomed the new students, both the Chinese and the foreigners. Unfortunately, most of the performances were in Chinese language, but some of them were watchable, like dances, and some parts of the renowned Beijing Opera were presented by many students. Also, some magic shows and exceptional presentations with different kinds of music were the main attractions of the cultural function in the event.

Among all of the presentations, I liked the doll dance performed by a group of students who were maintaining the movements of the doll from the backside. It needs tremendous practice and great timing to make the dance show a thrilling one. Also, the Beijing Opera was also a funny one though I couldn't understand but realize by the laugh of the other Chinese students.
