I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Well, it's a BPUD Sunday, and I just powered up a very nice chunk of BBHO as part of my participation in Bradley's lovely monthly tradition, and of course I wrote a post about it, July BPUD - BBHO Powerup Day - 915 BBHO Powered Up!. This was my largest BBHO powerup yet, and all of it came from passive accumulation and winning contests, which is pretty nifty indeed. I've been quite happily surprised at just how quickly my BBHO has been growing.
I noticed last night, and in a much more pronounced way this morning, that many internet services, and several Hive services that depend on them, have been down or very unstable, all morning. I'm just grateful that enough Hive services are still functioning so that I'm able to complete most of my Hive tasks, and all of the most important ones, though I have had adapt and improvise a bit. The functionality of several Hive websites is not working correctly at the moment, which is a bit of a bugger, I must say, but I roll and flow with it all the best I can.
An example of one important Hive service being down, when I went to my post templates on PeakD, to start this post, none of my templates would load, on either PeakD's main or beta site. So I had to copy the template from one of my previous posts, and re-add all my tags, to be able to write this post now. I'm noticing that multiple Hive games are borked presently as well, along with image loading on both PeakD and Ecency being only partially functional. It's quite a morning!
Last night I saw that the Hive-Engine team released an announcement saying that one of their service providers was down, with no known ETA, since it's an outside service. This is one of the challenges and weaknesses of having so much of Hive's functionality dependent on external service providers. If we can't find a way to do it ourselves, we'll always be at the mercy of unknown others to provide necessary services, which is a notable bottleneck and point of failure for a decentralized blockchain ecosystem like Hive.
With the vast majority of Hive websites also relying on outside web-hosting services, and along with it DNS to resolve the website names, there are a great many external parts, upon which Hive's functioning depends, that are out of our control, which is a weakness that I think should be addressed. As incredible as Hive is now, it needs a whole lot more decentralization of its various important services, from my perspective.
Yesterday, Saturday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, just before 2:30PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts. When that was accomplished, I got my machete and cleared around several important plants in the planting bed next to the Peanut Lawn, which was getting quite overgrown. After clearing there, and a few other spots around the Landing, I took a shower, went to the Landing to make myself some food (spiced-and-seasoned ground beef, eggs, onions, tomatoes, amaranth leaves, olive oil, and sea salt), and with that and my jar of superfood fire coffee in hand, I headed back to the Flow House, to begin my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I was able to get everything done by around 9:30PM, and after some asset management, and a scan of my X feed, I went to bed a bit after 11:30PM. I woke up at 7AM, having slept well, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just after 12PM, so a great time to wrap this up, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House a little later in the afternoon, to focus first on photography for my posts, and then community/land work. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until my Sunday Weekly Hive Goals and Progress Update tomorrow morning, and the next iteration of these posts tomorrow afternoon! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Bradley's tenaciously committed and all-in on Hive for the long haul (just like me!), and the higher his witness goes in the ranking, the higher the weekly BBH and BBHO dividend payouts will be! Vote Here!

Thank you for posting in the We Are Alive Tribe Community. Your post has been upvoted (from the perspective of AP).
A study showed that in mice, when a certain part of the brain was stimulated, "switched on", the mice started drinking less alcohol compared to the time when that part was "switched off".
If human has the same "brake system", it could be an effective "treatment option" for the binge drinking problem!

Endless thanks, my friend! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I totally agree with you.
It is a critical point that affects the true decentralization of the ecosystem.
While Hive has a strong foundation, relying on third-party providers for essential services limits its autonomy and exposes vulnerabilities.
It would be ideal to work on solutions that allow greater independence and robustness in the system, especially in areas such as hosting and DNS.

You expressed it perfectly, and I very much agree on the importance of working on a solution. Hive is incredible, but there is still much work to do. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
