As I heard about The Church of Our Lady of the Sea, it is probably world-famous! When we usually observe churches, most of the time the biggest attention is on the size or the big sculptures... Because of that, we miss all those small details you perfectly highlighted in your post!
Also, it's great that you did a photoshoot of the surroundings, and how this old church fits into the "ordinary" environment, including birds enjoying the highest spots for resting... 🙂

I really enjoyed reading you. I found some similarities with my way of thinking, it is true that friends are the family we choose. As humans that we are, it is normal that we make mistakes in some cases, but as you relate our power of decision is there, and in the face of what we do not want we can decide wisely. Life consists of that, learning from each experience and especially from the negatives. Your friend will still be alive in you every time you remember him, my wish is that he rests in peace. Sorry for your loss.
