The Four-Day Weekend: From Fun to "I'm Bored, IIAC - Day 864

Gurseerat had a long weekend at home, as she has been there for the past four days. Saturday was my day off, so she didn’t want to go to school. Sunday was a school holiday, and Monday and Tuesday were public holidays. Now, tomorrow morning, school will resume. It’s funny how kids always want a break when they’re in school, but feel bored and eager to go back when they’re at home. Gurseerat has certainly been feeling that way for the last two days. Hopefully, she’ll enjoy her time at school after this extended break.

This afternoon, she indulged in her love for coloring with watercolors. My wife usually refrains from letting her use watercolors because Gurseerat tends to make a mess with water and paint. I managed to capture a photo of her playing with the colors. Doesn’t she look great?

गुरसीरत का वीकेंड घर पर लंबा था, क्योंकि वह पिछले चार दिनों से वहीं थी। शनिवार को मेरी छुट्टी थी, इसलिए वह स्कूल नहीं जाना चाहती थी। रविवार को स्कूल की छुट्टी थी, और सोमवार और मंगलवार सार्वजनिक अवकाश थे। अब, कल सुबह से स्कूल फिर से शुरू होगा। यह अजीब है कि बच्चे स्कूल में तो हमेशा थोड़ा ब्रेक चाहते हैं, लेकिन घर पर बोरियत महसूस करते हैं और वापस जाने के लिए बेताब रहते हैं। गुरसीरत पिछले दो दिनों से ऐसा ही महसूस कर रही है। उम्मीद है कि इस लंबे ब्रेक के बाद वह स्कूल में अपने समय का आनंद लेगी।

आज दोपहर, उसने पानी के रंगों से रंग भरने का अपना शौक पूरा किया। मेरी पत्नी आमतौर पर उसे पानी के रंगों का इस्तेमाल नहीं करने देती क्योंकि गुरसीरत पानी और रंगों से अक्सर खिलवाड़ करती है। मैं रंगों से खेलते हुए उसकी एक तस्वीर लेने में कामयाब रही। क्या वह बहुत अच्छी नहीं लग रही है?
