Living Amid the hardship.

The cost of living in my area is dealing with the living. "That is a quote by my friend." Is it really a quote? Well, that I don't know and can't tell, but then that phrase above says it all about the cost of living in my area.

In the early beginning, it wasn't so, often I can't hold myself but reminisce back to times when the value of the naira was worth everything, I miss those times when I would go to the local market with just five thousand naira and prepare a delicious pot of soup (including meat) I miss those times when sachet water was sold for ten naira "very cheap right?" But currently, sachet water is very expensive to the point certain people can't afford it.

Little story about the beginning: When I first got my job, the first thing I considered was the transportation, "the cost daily," and after deducting my transportation for the month, if what I had left would be able to sustain me till the next payday. Now people from my part of the world would understand better.

In the beginning, everything was cool and blossoming, like I was living the baby girl lifestyle; sometimes, when my pay came, I would take myself out and spoil myself a little for the hard work that I'd put into generating my pay. I wanted to say something, but then the thoughts of "but" being the spoiler of things stepping in is what I can't wrap my head around. Anyway, I'm gonna use the word to add the state of the life I'm living right now.

So, back to the ending part of my story, but currently with the way the cost of fuel has skyrocketed to where I don't know, thereby affecting the cost of transportation. Right now, my transportation to the office eats sixty percent of my monthly pay; before now, it was consuming just thirty percent, but right now, sixty "The difference is much right," I know.

Currently, I'm living a low-key life; though I take myself out, I do it with all consciousness and with the right mind sitting in place, always reminding me when to stop ordering. The cost of living is becoming hard every single day; sometimes, I try to close my eyes if I find myself in the past, only to be woken up by the sound of my alarm to face the reality I've found myself in.

Come to think of it, I haven't included the most important thing that is keeping me going every day: "food." The only thing that is consuming my finances big time is "feeding." I'm the kind that can't go a day without food. If not, I would've been skipping some days. If I talk more about the feeding aspect, I'm likely to start crying, so I'm not gonna go further into it.

Does location change the prices of items when I'm based in the same nation? Well, I don't know what the cost of living is in other nations, but for my nation that I'm very familiar with, I don't think the cost of living in other states is cheaper than the one I'm based in. Because of the way everyone is complaining online and my friends who are based in other states, I've been convinced enough that the cost of living in one state is equal to other states, though some are likely to be more. So, I don't see relocating to another state as the solution to what I'm facing right now.

Thanks for reading 🧡

Now, meat of 5k won't even go round two times for my family. It's what it is

Skipping food is even out of it even though it's one major daily expense. You must refuel ur energy to keep hustling, just doing so with consciousness.

60% of ur salary on transport alone? Why not review that job babe...?

Yeah. I'm reviewing. Currently, I'm even in the job hunting market because I can't sustain myself like this and still achieve the things I want to achieve.

5k can't even prepare rice stew even if you have rice and other necessary ingredients at home😭😭

Right now, my transportation to the office eats sixty percent of my monthly pay; before now, it was consuming just thirty percent, but right now, sixty "The difference is much right," I know.

Pls try and look for another job because this is extremely high. The remaining percentage is good for nothing.

I swear, I'm job hunting right now.

The economy of our nation is going astray every single day, going down the toilets. But then I hope the future remains bright for us.

The situation in Nigeria presently is affecting everyone, everything is on the high side and people are seriously complaining, food is one thing that we can never predict, the price of things is going up every single day.

The prices of things going up are really surprising. You can't go to the market, and the price of things remains the same. There is always a difference.
