Allow those with less power to breath!!

(edited)

There is a popular saying that "If you want to know the true nature of a man then give him small power" The man in this text means both genders so my gender won't feel they aren't part of the saying hehe!!, like some men will say, if you give a woman power she will use it as an avenue to disrespect the man "my hand is not there" so I dunno what it means hehe!!.

They say power changes people, well that might be true to an extent but then it is the humans who are willing to let power take control of them that change. I have seen someone who gets promoted to a prominent position but remains humble, I feel like it all boils down to the individual involved.

A lot of people feel superior when they are given power, they often see it as a means to take advantage of others or even use it for their selfish interest, some use it to help those close to them and they don't by any means extent it to the non-relatives and that is what some persons from my part of the world are suffering, they've even given it a name "connection" you have to know somebody cause if you don't know anyone "nobody will listen to you" that's power speaking.

I have found myself in different situations where people with power and influence had taken the lead, leaving us the less powerful people stranded, yeah!!! It wasn't that bad though!! The particular one I'm gonna talk about hit on me differently.

During these periods cash was scarce in my nation "We are still living in scarcity" so that day, I was out of cash and I needed money to cover certain house expenses, I went to the bank cause I heard from a friend that particular bank had cash and was paying a certain amount to its customers.

When I heard that I ran to the bank with excitement, I didn't care if I was gonna spend the whole day at the bank cause what I wanted was to leave the bank with that amount of cash they were paying at the moment.

So I was opportune to enter the bank the very moment I arrived cause there was less crowd, I stood in the queue inside and waited for my turn, so the tellers normally call customers who had stood at the queue and were attending to us, just like that the line was moving smoothly when the line had almost gotten to my turn, I think there were three persons in front before me, so imagine that feeling of being among the next persons to be attended to.

After a few minutes, this lady walked in, she didn't stand in the line like the others had been doing, she just stood by the side then all of a sudden, one of the tellers called out to her and attended to her, the people on the queue (including me) have started grumbling "like what is happening here". One of the guys in the queue went to meet the particular teller person who called the lady and told him what he was doing. If that was not enough the teller paid out a lot of cash to the lady (more than a hundred thousand naira) in this cash scarcity we are suffering.

When it finally got to our turn " those on the line" then the tellers said they were out of cash, at that moment I got pissed, if you see the anger that boiled from within me (though it's invisible) I felt bad, like why would a bank even give out such an amount of money that would have gone round to everyone else to just one person making us go home without any cash. Told myself I wasn't gonna go to that bank again but I always find myself going there for different transactions "Maybe I can't live without it" but that's a lie, I can do without the bank.

Hah, a similar incident happened to me as well but in a different context. But they ran out of cash after giving away one thousand naira? Why so?

I meant a hundred thousand naira, so you've experienced such before. What happened?

0E-8 BEE

Well, that happens everywhere and I have also experienced such a thing before and wonder why those people behave that way.
Maybe they always bribe them before sending someone to collect the money.

0E-8 BEE

Yeah, I feel like they call them before coming so they just prepare a particular amount for them.

Ahhh it's as if everyone of us in this country have had our fair share of this annoying experience.

I will never get use to the feeling of being on a queue for so long just for nothing in the end.

This is like a major race we all experience as being Nigerian ๐Ÿ˜‚

It should be like that, but it is not happening in this world. The rich person who is there is getting very rich because of money and the poor person does not have enough money to do business and live a good life.

Yeah!! You get it right
