A chance at life!!

In my part of the world, there is no law or rule governing organ donation, everyone both dead and alive has the right to their organs, or should I say "the families of a deceased person have the right to what happens". The world has always been recording a shortage of organ donors and that is the major reason doctors try as much as they can to get organs from deceased patients with the permission of their guardians. I have seen in movies where the finances were made available to carry out the transplant but the only thing that wasn't available was the organ, which eventually led the patient to the world of no return.

These occurrences aren't only happening in movies but in the real world out there, people are losing their lives daily because there are no organs to carry out transplantation in patients who have chances of making it out alive and whole.

Little Story: Not a true life but a movie I saw" The lead cast had an incurable disease that was likely to take her life in the next two months, there was a day when she visited the hospital, she saw a boy whose heart had failed and needed a transplant in months. so she spoke to the doctors and asked them to give her heart to the boy when she had passed, now that was the most emotional yet amazing kind act performed by someone who was dying. unfortunately she passed and her heart was given to the boy, and the transplant was carried out, it was successful, and the boy got to have a life while another was lost.

With the little narration of a story being told, I feel like the government shouldn't be involved in delicate things like this, I know most people won't feel like giving out their organs to others even in their dying beds because people are different, we were created the same way but then it's our choices and the traits we possess that makes us different. Everyone has the right to choose "freedom of choice" and when a person is deceased, that person can't make decisions for himself any longer, it feels more like that right has been lost and has been placed in the hands of the close relatives.

I believe when a person is dead, his/her organs will be there doing nothing and with time stop functioning because the bump of blood has stopped, imagine using that same organ to save another person's life, I know this is a tough decision to make, while you are grieving others are rejoicing and being grateful because your relative's organ has been used to give someone a second chance when yours couldn't.

Final Thoughts: Taking organs from recently deceased patients and donating them to sick people "so they could have a chance at life" isn't a bad thing but then the government shouldn't be involved in it, I know how government agencies can be often, and such an act should be done voluntarily by the deceased relatives or guardians, and in cases where family refuses to donate the organs of a deceased family member, no punishment of any sort should be attached to it.

No doubt organ donation saves lives but then the emotions of the recently deceased family members should be put into consideration as well. It should be a thing of choice and shouldn't be imposed.

The family members of any deceased also have a right on the body of their loved one.

My take on this is that government cab only create awareness for its citizen on what organ donations is, with its benefits plus listing recognised health organisations that will be in charge of that.

Just like in the case of Elijah in the movie breath of life where he needs an organ transplant but no donor even when the money was readily available. The government decrease would be a nice one but then shouldn't be done forcefully as these people still mourns their love ones.
