Every business owner, whether large or small scale, dreams of having investors who do not just want to earn profits from their investments, but investors who believe in their vision and dreams and are willing to support whatever plans they have to propel their business forward. Most of these entrepreneurs eventually find someone to sponsor them, and you can often see how such investment takes their business from level 10 to about level 50. A strong example in Africa is the Tony Elumelu Foundation, which empowers visionary individuals yearly to upscale their businesses and, in turn, give back to society.
Now, imagine if the investment is channeled to me as a person, not to any business or venture, but to my skills and what I can offer to a particular sector or the world at large. I think I would be one of the happiest people on earth since I am always looking for ways to learn new things, gather new skills, and find ways to apply them across different sectors to make projects successful. So if you ask me, I would say that I need an investor who is willing to invest in my growth by paying for me to learn valuable, high-income skills that will serve me for a lifetime, as well as provide the necessary gadgets that will enable me work effectively with these skills.
The type of investments that I desire might seem like everyday things that people can afford on their own, but in reality, they require a lot of resources. Skills like media buying, social media marketing, and automation require significant financial commitment, access to the right tools, and proper training from experienced professionals. These are areas I have developed interest in, and I strongly believe that as a freelancer, they will help me expand into different sectors. Even if I decide to apply these skills in a traditional role or a physical company, they remain highly valuable and transferable. My main aim would be to work closely with the investor within their company and demonstrate how these skills can contribute to increased revenue and overall growth.
I would also want such an investor to be just as visionary as I am, someone who is willing to support my dreams while also benefiting from my growth and contribution to their company. This kind of relationship would not only help me grow but also position me as a valuable asset in the long run. One of the qualities that makes me worthy of investment is my can-do attitude. I am someone who does not give up once I set my heart on something. If I had an investor today, I would fully commit to learning these skills through the best courses and mentorship programs available, and I would ensure I see it through to the end with discipline, consistency, and determination. There would be no going back.
