Hello Friends, Namaste ☺️🙏 How’s are you doing?
Having blessed with children is a dream for many parents, but for some, it’s not an easy journey. While some conceive naturally, others face difficulties due to medical conditions or infertility. For such couples, surrogacy becomes a ray of hope—a way to have a biological child when other options fail. But surrogacy is not just a medical procedure; it comes with emotional, ethical, and financial challenges. Some see it as a blessing, while others question its morality. Let’s explore surrogacy in a simple and realistic way.
Surrogacy is when a woman (the surrogate mother) carries and delivers a baby for someone else. It’s usually chosen when the intended mother cannot carry a pregnancy due to medical reasons, or in some cases, by same-sex couples or single parents who wish to have a child.
Surrogacy is not the first option for most people, but sometimes, it becomes the only way to have a child. Such as, woman has serious health issues like heart disease or a damaged uterus that makes pregnancy risky, Couples have undergone multiple failed IVF attempts with no success, woman has suffered multiple miscarriages and cannot carry a pregnancy to term and also same-sex couples and single individuals who wish to have a biological child.
For many, surrogacy is life-changing. It allows couples to have a biological child – Unlike adoption, surrogacy ensures that the baby carries the genes of at least one parent. Safer alternative for women with medical issues – Some women have conditions that make pregnancy life-threatening. Surrogacy allows them to become parents without risking their health.
It helps same-sex couples and single parents – Families today come in all forms, and surrogacy gives an opportunity to people who otherwise couldn’t have children. It offers a more controlled pregnancy process – Doctors carefully select healthy embryos, increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy.
In some countries, surrogates are paid, providing financial support to them. However, in India, only altruistic surrogacy is allowed, meaning the surrogate is usually a close relative and does not receive any financial compensation beyond medical expenses.
Carrying a child for nine months creates a natural emotional bond. Even though the baby isn’t biologically hers, giving it away after birth can be difficult .In India, surrogacy laws have changed multiple times. Currently, only married Indian couples (who have been together for at least five years) can opt for surrogacy, excluding single parents, LGBTQ+ couples, and foreigners.
While commercial surrogacy is banned in India, the medical procedures, hospital expenses, and legal formalities make it costly. Many people still see surrogacy as unnatural or morally questionable. Intended parents and surrogate mothers often face criticism from society.
Surrogacy isn’t for everyone. It takes emotional strength, financial stability, and legal understanding. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. For some, surrogacy is a gift that brings happiness; for others, it raises ethical and emotional concerns. The truth is, surrogacy is neither good nor bad, it depends on individual circumstances.
In India, surrogacy remains a sensitive topic, and strict laws make it accessible to only a limited number of people. But as society evolves, attitudes toward surrogacy are changing, and more people are beginning to see it as a legitimate way to build a family.
For those considering surrogacy, it is essential to research thoroughly, consult medical and legal experts, and prepare emotionally for the journey ahead. Parenthood is not just about giving birth, it’s about love, care, and the willingness to nurture a child. Whether through natural birth, surrogacy, or adoption, what truly matters is the bond between a parent and a child.
Thank you so much for reading. Have a great day.

I found another view, if the surrogate mother is a close relative. this is better
Yeah, it's better to entrust your child to someone known than a total stranger. !PIZZA
