When Power Gets Into the Wrong Hands

Power is very significant and essential to our world, however, despite how important it's, still it's one of the most abused things on earth, and that's why you'll see something with a pinch of power start doing things that'll leave you in shock and suprise that'll make you open your mouth wide in awe. Go all over the world and you'll come across people abusing power and the small position of authority they hold, president, governor, chairman, leaders, teachers, doctors and managers abuse power and some of it are just so ridiculous to behold, the annoying thing for me is when I see same set of people who abuse power go on to complain about others like government officials who abuse power.

Through the years I've come across lots of people who abuse power, my institution affiliation center provost abuse power during his time in office, to the point where he looted money meant to be reminttted to the main campus and leading to delays for our education during my undergraduate days. Aside him, one of the most recent and constant abuse of people I've come to see often comes from my work place vice principal. The rate at which she abuse her power is becoming annoying by the day and I can't help but wonder how someone can be so cruel and still have the guts to accuse someone else of abusing power.

I can remember some months ago, I wrote about the issues I had with her and how she went on to lie to the principal about what I did, thankfully I didn't keep quiet and spoke my truth to the principal, for her to know what actually happened and how the her vice tried to twist my word , so as to put me in trouble. Since that incident I learn to be careful around her, because I know she'll try to implicate me further and not long after that, I approach her to take permission that I won't be in school the next day, surprisingly, she joyfully said I can go ahead, I even went her a message on WhatsApp as a reminder that same night and she acknowledged it.

Only for me to come back to school and was welcome with a query letter to start the reason why I didn't come to school the previous day. Immediately I saw that I would have panicked, assuming I didn't prepare for her and anticipated what she could do because of how I stand up to her after lying against me. I first protected by telling her I came to inform her and even sent her a message, but she denied everything and said I didn't message her, apparently she has even deleted our chat from her end. To her suprise, I smile and took the letter, then went on to write a respond to the letter, starting that I actually took permission from her before not coming to work on that fateful day.

Unknown to her that, since I had anticipated her actions, before going to her office, I had turn on my phone camera and place the phone in my chest pocket, so it'll capture her face and also record our conversation. I also screenshotted our conversation and the timestamp immediately the replied, and attached the video and chat picture into her flash drive, that's after printing the hardcopy of the chat. In my response to the query, I went on to state that this actions of hers is how she witch-hunt staffs around the school. After submitting my response to the query, I left her office and was later told by other staffs of how she was panicking after reading my response and how she even went on to tie the query letter she gave me by herself, for fear of someone coming from the high ups and seeing all those evidences. This are just a tip of the iceberg to how she usually abuse power, now imagine If I hadn't anticipated what she could do and didn't take the steps I took, I would have been used as a scapegoat for speaking upto her for doing something bad to me. This isn't ideal, we must be fare with the power we've. To cut the long story short, as I was writing this blog, I saw a notification that she has just been transferred to another school and I literarily pause what I was writing to dance for job, some of my friends at work also messaged me, thanking God, that she's finally going.
