The Ongoing Debate: Are Humans or AI Smarter?

On several occasions I've come across this debate over the internet pertaining to who's smarter between humans and artificial intelligence (AI). To be honest I find the debate insulting and annoying at the same time because it just sounds ridiculous that both of these entities are being compared to the other. In an actual sense, we all can tell for a fact which is smarter than the other. But then for the sake of clarification and stating my opinion, I'd be extensively talking about the subject matter and several other things that have to do with it, so without further ado, let's get to it.

I understand the fact that artificial intelligence is swift in responding to questions, even complex ones that are solved within seconds, and this has made a lot of people have the belief that it's smarter than humans, given the fact that it's highly efficient and can do a wide range of things, unlike humans who tend to be experts in just one field and have small knowledge on a few others. But does that directly mean artificial intelligence is smarter than humans? Personally, I don't think that's the case, and I'd explain why I think so below.

The first on the list and one of the most significant is the fact that without humans, there won't be anything called artificial intelligence in the first place. Humans are the creators of artificial intelligence, and everything it seems to know or perform are as a result of the numerous programs humans have embedded in it, so with that knowledge in mind, it'll be ridiculous to say that a device is smarter than its creator. It's understandable that not all humans have the ability to create AI, but that doesn't decline human capability. To further back that claim up, artificial intelligences are machines that are comprised of a bunch of programs and backends, and in the advent that someone interrupts the settings in the program or unplugs the main source of the software, everything about the AI would crash. So we can't say AI is smarter than humans, because before AI, humans had been solving complete issues and programs, so if humans created devices that did it faster, humans being slow doesn't mean they're not smart; it just takes time because, unlike artificial intelligence that has programmed that enhanced its response, humans have none of that but just have to depend on their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

It's ridiculous to see or hear someone say artificial intelligence is smarter than humans, when in reality artificial intelligence is a tool humans created to enhance their work and reduce the rate at which they engage in things, so in a nutshell, we feed the AI program with lots of information, and at the end of the day, that AI gives responses to people based on what it has been embedded with, and that's why you'll always come across times when artificial intelligence can't respond to something because it's against what it was programmed to do or its knowledge in that aspect is limited.
