Memes and GIFs: The Language of Modern Social Media

We all know we're in the digital era, and when we talk about the digital age, we're talking about how human interactions and the majority of our activities revolve around the internet, among them communication. With the advent of social media, many people now take their business, communication, and the like to social media because of the ease, cost efficiency, and the like that come from it. One of the things that have made social media communication stand out is the usage of memes and GIFs, which has made messages more effortless and fun. But then, what do I think about them?

To be honest, I'm one of the biggest users of memes and GIFs, and that's because I find it to be fun and exciting to use. Nowadays you can throw jokes around with tons of ready-to-use memes or GIFs that are already on the internet, and if that isn't enough for you, you can easily create yours and use it to spice up your conversation on the internet. Besides that, there are times when you want to pass some messages across but don't know how to put it in words; with these memes and gifs that can be done easily, your message would be well understood.

If I'm being honest, I must say that memes and GIFs do indeed make social media a better place, especially with how they help you express yourself in the exact way you feel and how they make conversation more fun and relatable. But then I can hide the fact that memes and GIFs aren't ideal for official conversations because of how they can water down the seriousness of some conversations, as we know many organizations now have meetings on the internet; it won't make sense to use them in such places, so basically, while it's good, you must know where to use it.

Exploring what a world without memes and GIFs would look like, I must say that it'll look normal like it used to be when we don't have them. I mean, it's not like they came into existence immediately; the internet and social media came into existence. It was introduced along the lines, and we find it fun and use it. But then I don't think anything strange will happen if we don't have it; it just means the conversation on social media might seem more serious than it does now, which is kind of fun.

That's about it on my take on memes and GIFs on the internet; they are amazing and worth using because they spice up conversation, and for that reason, they're a core part of social media conversation in today's world. So while it lasts, we should use and enjoy every bit of memes and GIFs we've put there on the internet because they have their ways of putting a smile on our faces. There are lots of people out there who are going through different situations, and a simple meme or GIF you send them can put a genuine smile on their faces and change their mood positively.
