If War Breaks Out Today: My Choice to Protect, Not Fight

War is never a good thing, and no sane person longs for it. However, we understand nations tend to do that, which, even though to them their reasons might be justified, still we know it's bad given the negative toll it takes on the lives of the citizens of both nations, the economy, and several other things to name but a few. We all clearly saw how long it took the work to move on from the previous world war, and seeing that, I don't expect anyone to be craving another war. But in the event that a war is about to begin today, will I be joining the army, or would I want to safeguard my family in other ways?

Firstly, it's worth knowing that I don't like war, and neither do I want to participate in any form of war or fight. I understand we need to take different drastic actions to safeguard our loved ones, but I don't think that needs to stretch to killing another just to bring that to reality. It's quite difficult for me to even think of taking someone else's life, and what I'll have as a justification is that I want to protect my loved ones. What about the person? He or she also has loved ones, and won't his or her death pain them?

So in the light of that, that's why the measures I'll be taking will revolve around taking my family to a safer place so as to protect them from what would most certainly accompany the war. Even though I didn't witness the civil war that happened in the 70s, even now the effects and impact of that event still carry so much weight, reproach, and hate in many people's hearts, and that's aside from the lives that'll be lost and the properties that'll be damaged, amongst many other devastating negative effects of war.

So what will I do if I won't be joining the army? What I'll do is find a way to protect my family and loved ones. So in the light of that, if money isn't a problem, then I'll be building a safe house or bunker underground, which would be capable of withstanding bombs and other weapons that could be thrown during the war. After constructing the safehouse, I'll make sure it has all necessities that can sustain people, such as water, food, and other important necessities, which would be able to sustain at least 100 people for at least three years.

Having this will help everyone around me experience safety and peace in a world plagued with unrest. I don't want to take a chance of going to a nation that isn't part of the war for fear of the war finally catching up with them, so I feel like that's one of the best solutions to ensure my loved ones are safe. Like I said, I don't want to join the army. Even though people often said I look tall and fit and should join the army, I know I'm not cut out for killing others, and that's why I'm resolving to the above-stated measures instead.
