Government Complicity and the Rising Tide of Insecurity

The role of government and leaders is enormous; we look up to them to take the nation to greater heights in every aspect, such as quality healthcare, good roads, state-of-the-art infrastructure, improving the economy, and ensuring a good quality of life amongst the citizens. Unfortunately, despite all these expectations on government officials, it's always disheartening when you realize those who ought to maintain peace and order are the ones who are making life miserable for the citizens, and in this article today I'll be talking about one occurrence that affects many, and yet it seems the government is in on it or even the sponsors.

When it comes to issues of insecurities going on in our country, it's quite difficult to not, for one reason or another, trace it back to our government officials, and the reason for that isn't far-fetched. I mean, come to think of it, we all know how terrible insecurity has been in the country and the situation it has put the citizens in, such as pain, unrest, fear, and many more, to name but a few, but despite how all of these are happening, it's as though the government can't see or care less about what we citizens are going through, because we hardly see the government take curbing insecurity seriously the same way they take apprehending whoever speaks negatively against them.

Take, for instance, that we always hear issues of bandits killing innocent citizens; we also hear issues of bombing, kidnapping, and the like, and you'll still see these terrorists come to social media to boast of their inhumane acts and flaunt the ransom they collect from victims' families. Despite this, you'll hear government officials saying it's very difficult for them to track down these evil perpetrators. But when an innocent, frustrated citizen lashed out at the government officials for being incompetent, before you knew it, within days such a person would have been tracked down, arrested, tried, and locked up, which makes us begin to question the integrity of our leaders.

We understand that this situation of insecurity has been around for a long time and before this present government, but the disheartening truth is that regardless of who is our leader, it seems they all have a soft spot for evildoers because you'll always see them pamper them and yet terribly punish minor offenders; it's just crazy. How can we have a government that gives terrorists the opportunity to be rehabilitated and gives them king-like treatment and yet sentences a man who, out of self-defense, killed a terrorist to death? It's ridiculous, crazy, and unheard of, and that's why I believe that either all our government officials are behind this terrorism, or some of them are, or some of our judiciary judges are too.

This act being done on repeat by our leaders from one person to another makes it difficult to believe anyone who's in politics and their true intent for we the people, making it obvious that they only care about power and what they're getting and that they've no empathy for we the people.

The country has spoilt. The government don't act like they care for it's citizens. They spend millions on their children to study abroad. I bet its money they even embezzle.. who knows?

Those guys only cares about themselves and their family, no love or empathy what's so ever for we citizens.

Only God will save us from what this country is experiencing from the hands of bandits and kidnappers .

Even if insecurity has been their before the present government , they need to do something because that is why we need leaders who can change situations from past. I think they lack empathy.
