Many of us use sugar every day for our tea, cereals, pap, some drinks even contain sugar and some people whole cooking add sugar to their food to make it tatste better. I have seen some videos where some people add sugar while cooking some foods but I did not always belive it is real because I will ask myself why will someone add sugar to food. I then met someone who later became a very good friend, she adds sugar instead of salt to yam when cooking it because the yam is not sweet, it is usually bitter.

Sugar is good but too much of it is bad for our health. I think sugar should be regulated properly just as alcohol is regulated. Many of us know how dangerous sugar is. When we hear anything alcohol related, we always hear warnings with it, not to drink and drive, not to drink too much, it can damage our liver and some other organs. Some bottles of alcohol have age limit. But when it comes to sugar, there are no such warnings and we know sugar will not destroy our body immediately but slowly destroy it.
I am not a medical doctor but I know sugar is the cause of obesity and some other diseases. I also know sugar is the cause of tooth decay. I was talking to a friend and I told her about sugar and some things is causes and she made mention of it also causing depression, doctors in the house please help me out here, how does sugar cause depression?
A lot of food we consume has sugar in it, soft drinks, cereals, biscuit, bread, yougurt all have sugar in them. There are some food we consume that also has sugar and this makes it a bit difficult not to know the level of sugar we consume. I think if sugar were regulated then companies that produce soft drinks, cereals and others would have to show the level of sugar in their products and this will help people to make better choices.

Regulating sugar does not mean we should ban, it is just setting limit and giving proper warnings. There can be clear warning on what too much sugar causes, there could also be instructions on how to add sugar to foods. If rules like these are made, it will protect children because they are the most affected. Children tend to grow up loving sugary foods. That is why we need sugar to be regulated, to help us protect our kids.
I believe we all deserve to know the truth about what we are putting in our bodies. Sugar can be enjoyed but moderately, regulation would ensure healthier habits and save a lot of lives in the long run.
I believe sugar should be regulated just as alcohol is because the long term damage of sugar is always serious. With proper rules, warning and education, people will be more aware, more healthy and responsible. Our health is really precious and should always come first before anything.

So it's just we individuals that needs to curtail how we consume it
