Jingle bells
Jingle bells
Jingle all the way.....
It's been ages since I was here but on seeing this weeks topic, I decided to clear my schedule and jump on it. So, this week prompt is to write on when your Christmas holiday starts and your plans for the holiday. Soooo... Let's go
Technically, my holiday starts when I am off any major responsibilities since I will be moving down to my family and be eating free food but, just like last year's Christmas, my mum travelled to go meet my sister because she's so lonely over there and her son is a handful coupled with her job and all. I was then left with 2 major options which were staying in Kwara State where all the students would have gone home to their families or go to Lagos where you can at least go out and meet few people.
Well, I decided to go with the later because I couldn't relive the experience of last year (I was literally the only person in my company and most are Muslims). I felt abandoned and people were looking at me like they don't want me at home or something. This year I decided to travel even if I will be alone at home and since this season is a time to catch-up with old friends well, I planned on doing just that.
My Christmas holiday started quite early because I left my apartment 1st week of November and this left me with enough time to start planning my Christmas.
So guys let me walk you through my plans.
My Christmas experience started with Experience (even though I wasn't there physically).
This event happens every first Friday of December and I planned on kicking off the holiday outing with an annual Gospel Musical concert here in Nigeria. It is the biggest there is where people from all over the country attend but as for me, I couldn't meet up due to the transport and my other plans, I just had to cancel that.
While the event was going on, I tried my best just to avoid viewing the status of my friends that went because clearly it would pain me more but trust my friends, they ended up sending me some pictures and some went ahead to tag me on their WhatsApp status. Nothing spoil sha, we move regardless.
So since that one wasn't possible, I decided to go along with an impromptu invite. A hivian that I have only been chatting with online invited me to sister's wedding and after hearing that she would be cooking Afang Soup(a native delicacy from the people of Akwa Ibom and Calabar) I couldn't miss for anything coupled with the fact that she said her place wasn't far (not far indeed) since that's where the wedding would take place. So I carried my self there and it was amazing. Met few other hivians there and we bonded over hive and food 😂😂😂
After these events, I am still planning if I should go to the hive social experience that @starstrings01 will be hosting details here but I still don't if I be in attendance because I will be letting someone else down if I do go.
Well, I still have 2 more events that I shouldn't also miss because I have invited a number of people mostly hivians so it's mostly an hangout.
The first one is a food festival. As a confirmed foodie, I can't use my eyes see something relating to food and remove it. So, immediately I saw this advert I ticked my calendar and saved the date. The foodaholic festival is happening on the 14th of December 2024 at IKEJA and the entrance is free. This is my first time attending this so I don't have much to say but all I do is that entrance will be freeeeeeee 😁. I plan on vibing, socialising and getting more knowledge so that I can implement it back at my food spot. So guys, if you'd like to also be there let me know so that we can link up. "The more the merrier". More details of the event on the flier below 👇👇
Then the last one which will be happening on the 4th of January 2024 is Lagos based hangout that we will be hosting. It is an indoor event that is opened to everyone either you are in the hive community or not, you are very much welcome because the plan is to get more people into the community and also have fun and meet up with people that you have only been talking with online. We have gone ahead to create a WhatsApp group and plans are currently still being made so you are also welcome 🤗🤗 more in the image below 👇👇 and if you are interested, the link will be in the comment section.
After all these, then I guess I will be set for the year 2025. I guess with all of the events I will no longer be tagged as a furniture anymore because I will know that I have also tried because e no easy to dey commot for Lagos. Here you have it, my Christmas plans.
