Why I Believe Holidays Should Be Moderate.

When I think about holidays, I feel like there are already enough of them in a year, I mean, don’t get me wrong, everybody does loves holidays like who doesn’t? , it is a time to rest, sleep, gist with friends, spend time with family, or just do nothing at all, but as sweet as that sounds, I personally like things to be in moderation, like too much of anything, even if it is enjoyable, will just spoil the balance in a way.

So as for whether holidays affect the economy, Omo, I no go lie, I do not really know that part, I am not an economist, and I will not come and form what I don’t know but I feel like in a way it can affect things seriously, because when everybody is on break, things are not moving like before, S
shops might still open, but big offices, schools, and companies will be on pause, and when there is too much pause, it can slow things down, but sha, my own main point is that holidays should be moderate.

I remember last year, after our second semester exam in Yabatech, they decided to give us PT (part-time) students a very long holiday, and see honestly, I can never forget that one, the holiday lasted from beginning of March till end of September, Six whole months o! See at first, I was happy, Who no like break after exams? I was already thinking of all the rest I would enjoy, but as time went on, ehn omo, the thing started to turn sour, It was not funny again at all, because the holiday was just too long and it just ended up disrupting our school year.

Imagine, something that should have ended quickly, they added extra months to it, we now had to spend longer than planned in school, which honestly pained me so much because time is important, I don’t mind holidays, but when it starts disturbing the proper flow of things, that is where I just draw the line, because education is already tough enough, adding unnecessary delay will just makes things worse.

So, for me, moderation is key, like let there be holidays to ease stress, yes, but not too much , like, think of it, if there are too many holidays, it means things will be constantly stopping and restarting, which is not even good for people’s focus, even for me personally, I know that if I rest too long, getting back into my reading or routine becomes extra hard, my brain will just be in a chill mode, and it will take a long time to adjust back.

I like short and meaningful holidays, For example, festive seasons like the Christmas, New Year, or even Easter , l those ones are very good, they make sense, because people need that time to be with their family and celebrate, and just cool off, and even Independence Day or Democracy Day, those ones too are fine, but when holidays are dragged unnecessarily, it just feels like a punishment in disguise.

So at the end of the day, I think we already have enough holidays in the year, now adding more will not really help, Instead, it might even spoil the calendar, whether for school, business, or even for the country’s economy, People will rest, yes, but at what cost?

So my own advice is that lets keep it moderate, let holidays be there for relaxation, but don’t let them turn into a burden that stretches everything out of place.

If their is too long strike , government will start doing everything so that the strike can end so definitely more holiday can affect the economy.

I agree with you. Holidays are sweet and refreshing, but when they become too much, they end up causing delays and stress. A balanced break is always better than an endless one.

Moderation

That's the keyword.
Everything should be done moderately unless it would just spoil the balance of things and there would be consequences.
