New World?

Hello everyone, Welcome to another edition of the Hive learners prompt, so this edition is something that has got me thinking hard like seriously, so without wasting more time ,let's dive into it.

So this kind of question ehn, is one of those things that will make you sit down and think well before giving an answer, see like just imagine one day scientists just announce that they have found another planet where humans can live, and then they said you are given the chance to relocate there permanently, Omo, that kind of decision is not easy at all.

For me sha, I will say it depends on If the planet in question is way better than my current situation here on earth or let me be specific, better than Nigeria , then I won’t even waste too much time thinking about it much, I mean, if they have better opportunities there, a better life for my kids, better healthcare, education, light (because we know the way this NEPA do here), then I might actually consider going, I think about how life here is already full of struggle, every single day it is one bill or the other, and the hustle does not ever finishes, so if there is an alien planet where those problems are not even a thing, abeg count me in.

But let us not pretend like it is a small decision o, you know to uproot your whole life, your family, your everything you have ever known and go to one strange planet with “aliens” , hmm, that one is enough to scare someone, what if we get there and realize the air sef is not fresh like earth? Or the food is not the way our food is? Imagine going to a place where there is no jollof rice , eba, fufu, etc. Omo that one alone can make someone rethink the whole thing.

And then there is the question of safety too, What if the planet looks peaceful but later on you realize there are things living there that do not want you? Or if there are diseases that humans don’t even have cure for? You see nobody wants to be the guinea pig for a new planet experiment, abeg, life is not that hard abeg...

On the other hand, I keep thinking of how hard life here on earth can get sometimes, especially in my country, see sometimes I just sit and say, if I had an opportunity to leave this country for somewhere better, I won’t think twice, so if this alien planet is offering everything we are lacking here , like peace, opportunities, good living conditions , then honestly, it is something I might want to go for lol....

At the end of the day, it is about weighing the pros and cons, If the planet is truly habitable, if scientists and explorers have tested it well and they are sure it is safe for humans, then yeah, I will go, because life is all about chasing better opportunities for ourselves and also our children , nobody wants to remain stuck in suffering if there is another chance to live well.

But if it is one of those situations where they say, Let’s go and test the planet, let’s see if humans can survive there, then no thanks , me I am not going , as I'm , I’m not ready to be a lab rat for anybody I will just remain here on earth, doing my normal hustle, and managing the wahala I already know.

So yeah, my answer is simple: If that new planet is truly better, safe, and has everything that can give me and my family a better life than earth, then yes, I would move, Omo but if it’s not, I will just stay put here on earth, life may be tough, but it is the devil you know.
