Modern Day Slavery Very Much Around Us.

Let me start by defining modern slavery again,Modern slavery are situations where individuals are exploited and forced into labor or other forms of coercion against their own will.

Yes slavery has been abolished but you see somehow people are still in it's confinement in so many various ways, most either it is ignorantly or consciously. One major form of modern slavery is coerced work in legal systems in terms of employment.

See the terms are made in such a way that it's seems favourably at first instance but with deep diving into work, people realize that the employment they seek to meet ends meat is another form of suffering where the employers exploit employees under the guise of obligations which is very wrong.

Domestic servitude is another form of modern slavery, where people mostly family relatives are just being exploited in private homes for labour with little or no right. Overworking, starving and even lack of proper education to the so called relatives which is one thing I do stand against.

Another form of modern slavery is agricultural exploitation, I know of someone in a village who is partially mentally unstable, he would go to people's house to either beg for food or money, Some people will inturn give him a very large portion of land full of weeds to clear and they will end up giving him a plate of food or even as low as #20 and if he was lucky he would get more, This portion that was given to this man, if it were to be a main labourer or someone else the pay would be at least #5000naira but he was given a plate of food, like people just abused his mental unstableness.

I think that is modern slavery because he was being exploited at his state of vulnerability, Most times if his work is not completed, the penny will not be given to him , I now always wonder why we humans are just wicked to ourselves . I mean to fellow humans.

A girl I met through my sister recently lost her job because her manager tried to sexually harass, I mean before I knew her I had heard from my sister that she had been under paid for the month, which made my younger sister quit her job , so now this girl after being harassed by the manager now stood up for herself, and the next thing we are hearing is that her services are no longer needed, I mean like WTH? Why? See a young lady struggling to take care of herself and her needs in a decent manner now with the turns in life she will now be forced to bend to the situation , I mean for what reason?

So I think Ways to eradicate modern slavery is to strengthen laws and enforcement, to prevent exploitation in confinements of organizations and private homes, also another way to eradicate modern slavery is to get support for vulnerable populations that is to aid groups that help those at risk or in need like supporting charity organizations.

Another importance way of eradicating modern slavery is by creating awareness, because seriously most times it is ignorance, so raising awareness about topics like this can help people speak up and when the awareness are raised solutions should be made too form the betterment of those who are victims.
