Going Viral At What Cost?.

I seriously don't get why some people creating content online do take big risks just to get famous, sometimes when you open media and see someone doing crazy stuff like hanging from a building , jumping from moving cars or eating weird things just to gain fame, It makes me think, "Is it really worth it?"

Because personally, I don't think it is, It is not something I would ever love to do, yes, I know that one viral video can completely change someone's life. We have seen people go from being unknown to becoming celebrities overnight, some get endorsement deals, thousands or even millions of followers, brand collaborations, and opportunities they probably never imagined, that part is true, going viral can actually open doors.

But I still don't think it justifies risking your life in such a manner, what if something goes wrong? What if that one challenge doesn't end the way you planned it? some of these challenges have left people with permanent injuries, while others have sadly lost their lives, when I see things like that, I always wonder if the views, likes, and followers were really worth it in the end, social media moves very fast, people will celebrate you today, move on tomorrow, and the next week another person is trending for something else, so imagine risking your entire life for a moment that people may forget after a few days

It just doesn't make sense to me, I think social media puts a lot of pressure on content creators, everyone wants to stand out and be famous.

Because of that pressure some people think they have to do something shocking than the last person, it is a cycle that keeps getting worse, ordinary content isn't enough anymore, People look for ideas to get famous..

The cycle just keeps getting worse, people begin looking for dangerous ideas simply because they think that is what will make them famous, meanwhile, there are so many creators who have gone viral without putting themselves in danger, some became popular because they were funny.

Some because they could cook.
Some because they could sing, dance, teach, or tell stories.

Others simply stayed consistent with their content until people started noticing them, not every viral moment has to come from doing something risky, I believe creativity will always last longer than shock value.

If people follow you just because you did somethinng that you almost lost your life too , so what happens when you stop doing that thing ?

Will they still stay? That is another question people don't ask enough, for me, I would rather grow slowly and safely than become famous overnight because I risked my life, atleast I will still be alive to enjoy whatever success comes my way.

At the end of the day, I understand why some people are tempted to chase viral moments, the rewards can be lifechanging, but no amount of money, fame, or followers is worth losing your life or permanently damaging your health, there are many ways to become successful as a content creator,I just don't believe risking your life should be one of them.

Views can always come again, followers can increase with time, but once a life is lost, there is no second chance, that is why, for me, going viral should never come at the cost of your own safety.

Nice write...
I feel content has lost its value this days..
Alot of people doing extreme things just for validation online.
Personally, i don't see myself causing any harm to myself or anyone just to go viral
