Damning Consequences For Pleasures

Habits are things humans find difficult to leave or break away from most times despite being aware of consequences that are involved, especially those that affects health, and this is because of the immediate pleasures they derive from them.

We only try to put effort to leave a certain habit, but always go back because breaking away from habits needs us to always be conscious, keeping it in mind, but within a time, we see ourselves going back to that habit maybe due to trigger of emotion, the pleasurable feelings we get immediately from these bad habits or because of the crave we have developed that keeps taking us back to them. So humans doing entirely away with some habits is not easy as far as we are still standing on our feet and moving.

I have read severally how taking soft drinks are not healthy because of the sugar content they are produced with. Even experiments has showed that a bottle of Coca-Cola or Pepsi contained up to at least seven (7) cubes of sugar. But the weather here in Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ will always tempt me to go for soda drinks to stay on my feet when working on the field. Everyone knows how bad sugar is, but soda drinks has the largest selling market in Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬. People are drinking sodas like water to stay on their feet for energy.

Lots of sugar intake leads to diabetes , but because of how hot the weather is, one will be forced to always want drink cold energizing soda, not caring as long as its not an immediate illness. Haha πŸ˜†. But the after effects consequences are all there waiting to struck one day. So what I do now is trying to take more of cold water πŸ’¦ to resist soda drinks

I was also addicted to junk foods many years ago , that I could consume snacks at every lunch time. Junks can be delicious and filling but its one unhealthy food that leads to Obesity. You don’t know the trouble you are inviting or piling up for yourself until you can not control your weight. When I noticed how my weight was increasing by weeks, I did not wait for any one to advise me. All these are sweet tooth 🦷 problems.

Although many of us may not care about what we consume because of the pleasure we get from these things. I have seen many who consume bottles of beers 🍺 at a seating and with some roasted chicken πŸ— or barbecue πŸ–. And the worst is that they do it every other day. These kind of habit might be had to break because they see it as ways to unwind after every day struggle . An addiction they are not aware of because its what gives them an immediate pleasure. We do not see the effects of bad habits until the consequences catches up with us.

In all, I can say we humans will always have some excuses to cover up our bad habits no matter what ever that habit is. A brother of mine will always go for a stick of cigarettes immediately after a meal , tell me the cigarette 🚬 helps him to digest his food πŸ₯˜ properly. Haha πŸ˜†. Who says cigarettes helps digestion? But that is how he feels about it.

As far as we did not reason within ourselves or see how the habits can affect us in long run , we will be bound with excuses. Its only in our hands to know what is good and bad for us.
