Things are really working so differently in our world 🌍 of today when compared to the days of our forefathers when evil 👿 is paid for evil, justice served in the right manner because of the beliefs of those days even when many of our forefathers are truly not serving God wholly.

Punishment we all know is the end result one gets after doing something wrong 😑. In more understanding, a consequence of a crime when it has to do with breaking a law, going against rules and regulations of a country. A way to pay those who has violated a lay down rules in a nation.

The problem of today’s world 🌍 is that corruption has eaten deep into those who are seated 🪑 in the seat 💺 where punishment are supposed to be carried out. Hence punishment is no longer working in our society the way it’s supposed to work. Offenders and law breakers have gotten the hint that when a nation is corrupt, nothing works with the law again. Rules and regulations are no longer in place and this helps law breakers to buy justice with money 💰.

I will give you a simple example of what happens here in my country Nigeria 🇳🇬. Why would some serious crime of murder where the criminal was arrested, kept in jail for trial that will commit him to go to prison for life sentence, the victim parents will be kept under emotional trauma for months, if not years with the court adjoining the case from time to time because the offender has someone either in the government or a top businessman who is dishing out money 💰 to those involved with the case to keep adjoining so that the case will become obsolete with time and not fresh in the mind of people.

Another is that there is a law against drugs, weed smokers, marijuana and other hard drugs. The boys who are involved with these set of drugs usually has a hide out where they meet, seat to enjoy themselves smoking, and in the night might turn into criminals who snatches phones 📱, money 💵 and other valuables from passersby. The police 👮‍♀️ being those who are to protect the citizens will go to their hideout to raid them, put them in cell overnight and bill 💵 them =N= 20,000 or =N= 30,000 each for bail. And this does not just happen once , but has become a constant practice and a way to eat from these boys.

A country with this kinds of happenings will never be able to succeed in using the law, rules and regulations to punish offenders and law breakers because corruption is the root why punishment could not be served. And apart from these kinds of crime, the rich 🤑 who are behind these boys are the ones making things worse. The rich feels that they can always navigate things because of money and prominence, put the country so much in jeopardy.

The issue here is not the kinds of punishment that has been laid down for crime offenders, but how punishment is not being served to those who has committed various kinds of crime, especially when the rich is involved. It appears its only the poor people punishments are made for because many who are saving most of these punishments are the poor and even some being innocent.

In all, because of how the poor has no connection in the country, they are the ones suffering in the hands of the government. The rich 🤑 will never go to prison because they have connections and these had made the masses to keep loosing their trust in the government. Many of the rich men only go for hours arrest where they keep living their usual life with everything made available to them. This I can say is the highest rate of corruption with punishment only being for the poor citizens while the rich keep acting that they are above the law. And until punishment is served the right way, offenders will keep going back to committing more crimes.
