A Total Breach Of Privacy Should Schools Monitor Staffers And Students Social Media

I am going to be straight forward on this very topic ending #hiveleaners featured content for this week. Should schools have the right to monitor their staffers and students? I don’t think this kind of rule will ever succeed if implemented among schools because I see it as one be invention into peoples personal privacy.

I see social media as a place where we individually choose to live any kind of lifestyle or ways , meaning its a place of freedom of what we choose to do, who we want to relate with, what we choose to post, and in all, speak our mind when it comes to personal perceptions to issues. So I do not see why a school or an organization will want to invade in this privacy of accessing your account just to know what you are posting which might reflect your lifestyle because they are in control of your life as a staff working for them and a student 👩‍🎓 of their school.

Breach Of Privacy:

Although, these kinds of rules or laws would have been a good one considering how it will enable school management to know more about a person as regards to what a decent lifestyle one is living because most people’s social media account describes who they are outside the office or classroom. It will also enable school managements to fish out some certain secretes many hide from organizations , but this is why as individuals, we have our privacy to maintain, knowing we are entitled to it with right.

Schools should not interfere with the private life of their workers or students in the form of accessing their social media since this can cause lots of conflict where there will not be good work flow and students will not want to be in such an environment no matter how good the school intention might seem, because no one likes their privacy to be breached.

Where Necessary:

I have seen many organizations who ask their staffers for access to their social media account because its part of the company’s rules and regulations. And these organizations I can say are big top companies with good salary packages 📦, where when you secure a job shows your are already on another level. So many who are recruited feels their social media posting can not stand on their, so they willingly give out their account. But one thing the organizations don’t know is that many of these staffers may be operating from multiple account with different names in social media platforms. Another being that many don’t even have any account because they want to focus on their jobs for now.

I am on social media, but I tell you that I hardly visit regularly. Am a fashionista, who loves fashion and dressy and this is what I do on my Instagram Account. Posting fashion which includes dressing, outfits that are in vogue, sharing fashion tips , sharing how to stay fit and look gorgeous. But despite this, I don’t visit everyday . The most important with social media contents is for one to just be decent as it can serve as a portfolio 💼

Other Sides Of Social Media:

I have also seen many in this recent times who got good well paid salary jobs because of their social media and content creation. Yes! There different kinds of content sharing and different kinds of jobs. Those who are into technologies , gamers, 3D Animation, Blender Animation, top notch photographers, fashion stylist, makeup artist. These are areas of online jobs that people are being reached to because their social media pages or account was seen and impressed.

So people should have the freedom and free will to do what they choose to do without any restrictions. Social media was created for people to use as a reach out to the world 🌎, so why restrict them. What I choose to post is my business. So if my job requires me to give access to my social media account and am not comfortable with it, then I can choose to leave the job. But any staffer who feels comfortable with it, can do as they please. In all, this demand should not be under duress.
