It had been a long time I had a reason to jog or walk at a very long distance but today was different. A friend of mine who had been at my side for a while had asked if we go take a very long jog today, and I thought it would be great to do so. I had only thought about it but never taken the initiative to do it.
The initial plan was that we would jog all through but while we were at it, I gassed out. I could not continue, and the funniest thing was we had not gotten half of the journey. I was already breathing as if I had a marathon race. It is not my fault though; it is because I am not used to it. Unlike my friend, who does outdoor activities more often than me.
My friend often plays football, and as for me, I have quit playing football since after high school. Although I have had a chance of playing with my friends at my apartment, I could not stay on the field for up to 5 minutes before I lost my breadth. I started feeling headaches and back pain within that short moment.
The same experience happened today. I had not jogged for up to 30 minutes and it was like I was going to fall sick. Then I pleaded with my friend that I could not jog again; instead, he should let us just walk. That way, it was much easier for me.
Even with the walk, I could feel it on my legs, but it was something I could endure compared to jogging. I needed this exercise because I want to burn fat from my body. My body has stored a lot of fat, most especially in my belly region, and from my research on YouTube, taking long walks and jogging can help to reduce it. So what I plan is that anytime I am around the school area, I will be taking long walks like this once a week while still having my daily (routine) morning exercise.
I must admit, I have not been consistent with my routine exercises and that is because I have someone staying with me. Not that my friend is disturbing me, but I prefer having no one around when I am doing my home workout. In fact, I feel I am more productive in general when I am in an isolated space.
Back to discussing about today's walk. My friend was mocking me during the whole walk. I started making jokes that he cannot compare an old man like me with a young boy like him. I told him I am his elder and does not have that much energy like he does. Till I got home, he continued mocking me. At the end, I can say this walk was a memorable one.
Well done! Have you joined actifit?
11km approximately means huge. Jogging is a thing I hardly do and I feel dizzy within 5/10 minutes when I do that. So I prefer walking and I can walk a lot.
I jog 3.5km in 17 minutes daily before beginning my 45 minutes workout. 10.9km walk is quite a lot. Well done bro
