I am a citizen of Bangladesh and truly proud to be Bangladeshi. Love for the country is essential for every one of our citizens. Our country is well-watered, fertile, and green. All types of crops are produced in our country and the soil is very fertile. Most of the people in the country are middle class and lower class, yet there was peace in our country at one time. But for the past fifteen years, a dictatorial government has exploited and oppressed this country. That authoritarian government has taken away the language and freedom of speech of the people in this country. Moreover, by smuggling thousands of crores of money abroad, the country has crippled its economy, the country is still bearing the consequences.

Our country once gained independence in 1971, but the previous government kept us subjugated through its authoritarian rule. Due to the tyranny and limitless corruption of that government, people are increasingly. In July last year, students started a student movement against discrimination. The students wanted to reform the quota and give priority to talented people in getting jobs. But the government was indifferent to providing opportunities to talented people by creating various types of quotas, and the number of unemployed people was gradually increasing. Moreover, unqualified people and people with positions were getting all the jobs. It was really becoming difficult for ordinary people to accept.

As student joy spread throughout the area, the government opened indiscriminate fire to suppress the movement, killing hundreds of people.People could no longer stay at home and took to the streets against this authoritarian government and started a movement. Gradually, this movement took the form of a student-public movement. The government took a tougher stance to maintain its power and ordered direct fire. Police and law enforcement officers killed hundreds of innocent people. At one point, people across the country took to the streets to demand justice for this murder and the removal of this murderous government. Eventually, the dictator fled the country and the dictatorship collapsed.

The people of our country have once again gained a second independence at the cost of the blood of thousands of people, which will be written forever in the history of the country. We can now speak freely and do everything. We hope that such an authoritarian government never returns.

We are moving forward with a strong determination to rebuild our country. Our interim government has already been formed and they will conduct the country's next elections. They have decided to do several things before that, including amending the country's constitution and enacting laws. Anyway, everything is progressing nicely, hopefully we are moving towards a happy and prosperous country.

I really look forward to the interim government succeeding as well. A whole heartedly want that. But at the same time we should actually realize that it is very hard for them because they are simply don't have the manpower to relay their work across the country. In a country like Bangladesh, only a few police makers isn't enough. We require enforcers throughout the nation.

It's great that you are proud of your country! But this situation of dictatorship and corruption that you describe is worrying. How do you think the international community could help support the people of Bangladesh in this struggle? Here in Brazil, corruption is systemic too.

Corruption is widespread throughout the world, but the situation in our country is fragile.Anyway, I hope everything goes well. Thank you for your comment.
