[EN/PT-BR] What do I consider to be a healthy environment in my life?

In this modern time, we talk a lot about quality of life, whether at home or at work, the current idea is that this term should be considered more important than ever, which encompasses everything that is around us. So, if it is around us, living in a healthy environment is also part of the quality of life that we can have. At the moment, I can say that my healthy environment is at home, where I have been living well in a certain way with my wife and children. I think that in order to reach an environment that pleases us, we need love and respect for those who live there.

At work, I can say that the environment is toxic, especially because people here are always stressed and have a lot to do, so at times I am treated badly and with disrespect, which already breaks one of my ideas of a safe and healthy environment. I try to understand that it is because of stress that people treat each other badly here, but it is also difficult to keep making excuses that everything is related to that. I prefer to believe that at some point everything will improve, although it seems that it will not be.

The place does not help much either, it is a cramped place, with a lot of noise and it lacks some things to make it cleaner and more beautiful. I work in a commercial office, but support is next to development, which in this case is me, so the phone is always ringing, there is a lot of noise and loud music and this bothers me a lot, for those who work with programming you know how having silence or lighter and more pleasant music helps to think of solutions for the code, so here everything is together and that is why I consider my workplace horrible and disturbing.

But I need the money, don't I? So, even though the environment is not healthy, we often subject ourselves to this, to staying in a bad place because we need to earn money to pay the bills or because we are taking a course or studying something and so on. Unfortunately, to achieve certain goals, we need to be surrounded by idiots and uneducated people, but thinking about an end goal, we sacrifice part of our sanity for this. That's what I've been doing for some time, staying here, even talking and asking my boss to change some things.

I believe that there should be separations of what is right and wrong for each department, so that each person has their own space and can thus work and live. Having a healthy environment says a lot about how the people who are there with you treat you. If you are in a good environment, where people are good and help you and respect you, kind of automatically, that place will already be good for you. If you need help, someone will help you without throwing it in your face, for me that already makes the place wonderful.

Finally, a place that also has the basic necessities: bathrooms, filtered water, a place to rest, a good table and chair to sit and work. I think this physical environment also contributes to a good quality of life. I know it's a bit complicated to have all of this at the same time, but it's the dream of an environment where everyone respects each other and the physical presence there can add some value to you.

Neste tempo moderno, falamos muito sobre qualidade de vida, seja em casa ou no trabalho, a ideia atual é de que deve ser considerado mais importante do que nunca esse termo, que abrange tudo o que está à nossa volta. Então, se está à nossa volta, viver em um ambiente saudável também faz parte da qualidade de vida que podemos ter. No momento, posso dizer que meu ambiente saudável é em casa, onde tenho vivido bem de certa forma com a minha esposa e meus filhos. Acho que para chegar em um ambiente que nos agrade é preciso amor e respeito por aqueles que ali convivem.

Já no meu trabalho, posso dizer que o ambiente é toxico, até porque aqui as pessoas vivem estressadas e com muita coisa para fazer, então em certos momentos sou tratado mal e com desrespeito, o que já quebra uma das minhas ideias de um ambiente seguro e saudável. Tento entender que é por conta do estresse que as pessoas tratam umas às outras mal aqui, mas também é complicado ficar dando desculpas de que tudo está relacionado a isso. Prefiro acreditar que em algum momento tudo vai melhorar, apesar de que parece que não será assim.

O lugar também não ajuda muito, um lugar apertado, com muito barulho e faltam algumas coisas para o deixar mais limpo e bonito. Trabalho em uma sala comercial, mas o suporte fica junto do desenvolvimento, que no caso sou eu, então toda hora tem telefone tocando, muito barulho e som alto e isso me incomoda bastante, para quem trabalha com programação sabe como ter silencio ou música mais leve e agradável ajuda a pensar em soluções para o código, então aqui fica tudo junto e por isso considero o meu local de trabalho horrível e perturbador.

Mas preciso do dinheiro, não é? Então, por mais que o ambiente não seja saudável, muitas vezes nos sujeitamos a isso, a ficar em um lugar ruim porque precisamos de ganhar o nosso dinheiro para pagar contas ou porque estamos fazendo um curso ou estudando algo e assim para o diante, infelizmente para conquistar alguns objetivos, precisamos ficar cercados de idiotas e pessoas sem educação, mas pensando em um objetivo final, sacrificamos em parte a nossa sanidade para isso. É o que faço há algum tempo, ficando aqui, mesmo falando e solicitando para meu patrão mudar algumas coisas.

Acredito que têm que ter as separações do que é certo e errado para cada departamento, para cada pessoa ter o seu espaço e assim poder trabalhar e viver. Ter um ambiente saudável diz muito sobre como as pessoas que ali estão com você te tratam. Se você está em um ambiente legal, onde as pessoas são boas e te ajudam e te respeitam, meio que no automático, esse lugar já vai ser bom para você. Se precisar de ajuda, alguém vai te ajudar sem jogar isso na cara, para mim já torna o lugar maravilhoso.

Por fim, um lugar que tenha também o básico necessário: banheiros, água filtrada, lugar de descanso, uma boa mesa e cadeira para sentar e trabalhar, acho que este ambiente físico também contribui para uma boa qualidade de vida. Sei que é meio complicado ter tudo isso ao mesmo tempo, mas é o sonho sobre um ambiente onde todos se respeitam e o físico ali possa te agregar algum valor.
