[EN/PT-BR] The bad side of science and technology is evolving. There is always a cost to it.

The evolution of technology and science never stops, and with it, advances always appear over the years. No matter what happens, something new always arrives, maybe in a short time or maybe it takes a little longer to be adapted and improved, but when we least expect it, it happens, something new and more modern arrives on the market for us to buy or enjoy. Of course, not all new technology is a good thing either. We know that for some human beings, updating is simply creating more sophisticated weapons and bombs that can kill more people, this is a bad point in evolution.

Of course, not everything is focused solely on war, although many countries have this in mind, that technological evolution is only about creating more weapons and that the more destruction you can cause, the better. Science has its negative side in our lives, and some costs are necessary to achieve this evolution of everything we have available to us. Testing on animals or on more vulnerable people, for example, still has this whole dilemma related to testing new medicines, vaccines and derivatives, in which we use guinea pigs who often do not have the right to simply refuse to participate in something new, which they do not even know if it will work.

Technology has also brought us a strong alienation from cell phones, something that our children are experiencing now. You and I, who are already adults, came from a time when there were no cell phones like today's, so we still manage to live our lives disconnected. I think we are the last generation to go through this transition, don't you? And now, our young people cannot live without cell phones, they live dependent on them, whether to play games or like photos on social networks, dance on others, and so on as they grow up.

Has using your cell phone become more important than studying? That's what it seems to them, unfortunately that's it. Want another example? The automation and improvement of artificial intelligence, that's the hottest topic today, how all of this is causing flesh and blood beings to lose their jobs and their usefulness. Even though many argue that jobs and everything else will not be eliminated, I think we all know that this evolution will, in fact, eliminate jobs and that those who do not adapt will be out of the game, going through many difficulties.

With all this, I can say that these were just a few examples of how the evolution of technology and science can be good, but also bring great negativity to all of us. It is good to see that we are evolving, achieving an ever-increasing quality of life, but everything has a price, a risk and this is the complicated part. I always say that progress will never stop, that is how it works, no one will stop creating new things because part of the population will be harmed, unfortunately that is not how it works.

So, we must take advantage of every moment, every second in which we can exercise our lives, our behavior, take advantage of it while we can still be human, not letting technology speak louder than our humanity. It is not easy and evolution never stops, but even though it may seem like a lost cause, we must never give up on our humanity, which resides in each one of us.

A evolução da tecnologia e da ciência nunca para e, com ela, avanços sempre aparecem com o passar dos anos. Não importa o que aconteça, sempre chega alguma novidade, talvez em pouco tempo ou talvez leve um pouco mais para ser adaptada e melhorada, mas quando menos imaginamos, acontece, algo novo e mais moderno chega ao mercado para podermos comprar ou aproveitar. Claro que nem toda tecnologia nova também é algo bom, sabemos que se atualizar para alguns seres humanos é simplesmente criar armas e bombas mais sofisticadas e que consigam matar mais, esse é um ponto ruim da evolução.

Claro que nem tudo é voltado somente para as guerras, apesar de que muitos países tenham isso em mente, que a evolução tecnológica é somente criar mais armas e que quanto mais destruição você conseguir provocar melhor, a ciência tem o seu lado negativo em nossas vidas, alguns custos são necessários para chegar nessa evolução de tudo o que temos disponível para nós. Os testes em animais ou em pessoas mais vulneráveis, por exemplo, até hoje têm todo esse dilema relacionado a testes de novos remédios, vacinas e derivados, no qual utilizamos cobaias que muitas vezes não tem o direito de simplesmente se recusar participar de algo novo, que nem sabe se vai dar certo.

A tecnologia também nos trouxe uma forte alienação em telefones celulares, algo que nossas crianças estão vivendo agora. Eu e você, que já é adulto, viemos de uma época em que não havia celulares como os de hoje, então ainda conseguimos viver a vida desconectados. Acho que somos a última geração que passou por essa transição, não é? E agora, nossos jovens não vivem sem celular, vivem dependentes deles, seja para jogar ou curtir fotos em redes sociais, fazer dancinhas em outras, assim vai seguindo o crescimento deles.

Mexer no celular se tornou mais importante do que estudar? É o que parece para eles, infelizmente é isso. Querem mais um exemplo? A automatização e melhoria da inteligência artificial, isso é o ponto mais quente da atualidade, em como tudo isso está fazendo com que seres de carne e osso percam seus empregos e sua utilidade. Por mais que muitos defendam que não irão acabar com os empregos e tudo mais, acho que todos sabemos que essa evolução irá, sim, acabar com empregos e que quem não se adaptar estará fora do jogo, passando por muitas dificuldades.

Com tudo isso, posso dizer que estes foram somente alguns exemplos de como a evolução da tecnologia e ciências pode ser boa, mas também trazer grandes negatividades para todos nós. É bom ver que estamos evoluindo, conquistando cada vez mais qualidade de vida, mas tudo tem um preço, um risco e é essa parte que é complicada. Sempre falo que o progresso não irá parar nunca, é assim que funciona, ninguém vai parar de criar coisas novas porque uma parte da população será prejudicada, infelizmente não é assim que funciona.

Então, devemos aproveitar cada momento, cada segundo onde podemos exercer nossa vida, nosso comportamento, aproveitar enquanto ainda conseguimos ser humanos, não deixando a tecnologia falar mais alto que nossa humanidade. Não é fácil e a evolução nunca para, mas por mais que pareça uma causa perdida, nunca devemos desistir de nossa humanidade, que reside em cada um de nós.
