I've always believed that knowledge has no end; the more a human grows, the more knowledge he or she acquires in the journey of life. Those who search for knowledge are always trailblazers. That is why it pays to keep learning, no matter how much you think you've known.
There are TV shows that I do watch on the TLC channel on DSTV. These shows are based on podiatry and dermatology, which is the study of feet and skin. There are surgeons who perform different surgeries for patients on these shows. These shows had helped increase my knowledge about human skin and feet—things that I might not have known if not for these shows or research.
The dermatology show is called "Dr. Pimple Popper." She always helps patients with different skin conditions, such as lipoma, cysts, bumps, and lumps on the skin, which are of different types. When I started watching this particular show, I was surprised to see many skin conditions that people are dealing with that we see as normal things here in Nigeria because we lack knowledge of what they are. Many of the lumps and bumps on the skin can be removed surgically, but because we don't have what it takes here in Nigeria, we tend to leave them to grow with us.
The surgeon in charge does carry out several tests on her patients to know exactly their condition before administering drugs or performing surgery. Anyone who might be life-threatening to the patient is always referred to a specialist, which is the right thing to do. The health sectors of other countries, such as the USA and Canada, are so encouraging that they don't go into things they aren't sure of. They will rather refer such a patient to a specialist than gamble with such a patient's life.
The second show, which is a podiatry show, is based only on foot conditions. The surgeon specializes only in feet, and in this show, I got to know about a condition that I had but never knew its name. In this show, I got to know the dead skin underneath one's feet is called "varuccae." It's not cancerous, nor is it life-threatening. It developed naturally by itself, and it has no treatment because, with age, it disappears itself. Though it might be painful at times while walking, the only remedy is to scrape the dead skin off with a razor once in a while.

I got to know all these via the show, and I was at peace knowing they're neither life-threatening nor cancerous. Learning never ends; every human should prioritize knowledge. Read about things, watch educational shows, ask questions, and go in search of more knowledge, and that would make one a boss in his or her space.
I'm always surprised when people ignore education and say it's not a must; one can be rich without education. Well, true, but in managing that wealth, you still need education, and that's a must.
I've learned a lot from the shows on proper care of my skin, feet, and body as a whole, and I'm still watching the shows because I know I still have a lot to learn because learning never ends and those who seek after knowledge only find the hidden treasures in it.
Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.
There are television programs that do help to learn about certain conditions, world history, places in the world, etc. that go beyond entertainment. Generally on cable TV I am more inclined to watch these programs because we always learn something. In Latinomerica the program that talks about dermatology is called E! Entertainment Television.
Oh that's cool
Never heard of this TV show, but sounds like one with lots of knowledge and a lot to gain for viewers.

I love these shows that teach us about our bodies. I used to watch them a lot in the past, too! I've never seen these ones about feet before. I found them cool!
It's really cool
Having expertise is one side, having the requisite equipment is another thing. Hopefully the nation can have such assets readily available. These tv series truly are educative.
They sure are
