THE LAW OF FORGETFULNESS…
I am so pained right now for not being able to meet up with the deadline of this topic, this post was supposed to be written last week as an entry to hive learners edition two prompt, but for some reasons best known to myself i couldn’t meet up. The week for this topic has gone but then i am still choosing to write about it because i truly want to write about it, but then i will be doing something entirely different…
When it comes to the word ”forgetfulness”, I think the word forgetfulness is intimately associated to another key word ”Age”. Let me take you back to your early years in college. The first thing that came to my mind upon seeing this topic and its brief was the subject Economics, i just couldn’t help but feel like this topic is somehow related to a particular topic in economics, especially after figuring out the connection between the word age and forgetfulness…
Let me take you back to the years of Theory of Demand and Supply. This is a major topic in economics, it is in-fact one of my favorite topics in economics. The law of Demand states that the lower the price of goods, the higher the quantity of goods that will be demanded, and the higher the prices of goods, the lower the quantity of goods that will be demanded…
The law of Supply states that the higher the prices of goods, the higher the quantity of goods that will be supplied, and the lower the prices of goods, the lower the quality of goods that will be supplied…
I came to this deduction after thoroughly reviewing these two laws, one is a common law in the economics and the other is not a common one, but then i am sure many people out there will be able to relate to it after i draft it out in writing…
It is no lie that; the older we get in age wise, the weaker our memory becomes. Let me break it down a bit more, if we are to compare the retentive memory of a child between the age gap of 5-30 and that of an older adult between the age gap of 70-100, who do you think is likely to have a longer, fresher and retentive memory than the other?. It’s obviously the child, and that is because he or she is still young, everything about their brain works twice as fast than that of the oldies, and that is where my conclusion of this law comes from…
The law of forgetfulness states that; a man is bound to start experiencing different level of forgetfulness as he continues to grow older, which means the older a man is, the higher the chances of being forgetful, and the younger a man is, the lesser the chances of being forgetful, provided there is no introduction of an external factor…
Hmmm, i knew this right from the onset but then I needed help putting the words together, and after carefully analyzing the singularities of life, i came to this deduction that; Yes, the forgetfulness of a man is a progressive thing, the older one gets, the weaker his ability to store data and many other informations, compared to that of a younger person who has the ability to store a thousand and one information and data and still remembers it to an extent…
In summary, the fact about being forgetful is that age is a determining factor. The older the body, the weaker the memory gets, and the younger the body, the stronger the memory, provided there is no external factor like genetic/ hereditary illnesses or accidents…
In conclusion, there are some rare cases though, but then i still believe that age is one of the determining variables for being forgetful. I am open to more insights on this, it’s like an open concept, let’s share knowledge and rub heads together. I don’t know much bur I believe two heads are better than one, i am open to enlightenment and correction…
