Waiting for the Next Holiday: Memories, Plans, and Excitement Ahead

The last holiday I had was in January, and it was one of the most memorable ones I’ve ever had with great friends. After my birthday on the 14th of January, I decided to travel to Lagos to visit my long-time childhood friend and also planned a hangout with my Hive friends — Nkem, Vickoly, and Moremoney. I actually enjoyed loads of fun moments with these amazing people, and for the few days I spent at my friend's place, it felt like the holiday shouldn't stop. But you know, the more I stayed, the more I kept spending.

Ever since then, I’ve been hoping for the next holiday so I could go out again. I actually discussed with these three Hivians about our next hangout, and we are planning towards that. I can't wait for where we are going to celebrate and have fun next.

Since I completed my National Youth Service Corps, I haven't gotten a job, which means I can pick any day I like to have my holiday. However, I would still have to consider those I would be going with because of the nature of their work. I still work from home for now, and I hope to get a job very soon because honestly, it's like I am wearing out staying at home all day. I'm excited for the next outing. I already informed my childhood friend to get ready anytime, as I might appear unexpectedly whenever I'm bored and need to travel.

Checking my calendar for the next long holiday, I discovered there wouldn't be any until the end of the year, except for the teaching jobs, where they would go on holiday by July and perhaps resume in August. But I’m hoping something good might happen in between those days. I'm not planning on travelling to my hometown for now, at least until December, when it would be time to celebrate the festive season and have fun with my family.

My younger sister will be coming around to my place next month after her exam. She is in 300 level, and according to her, she would be coming to spend her holiday at my place so she could know where her big sister is staying and see the new apartment she got. So, this is more like her own plan of coming to spend the holiday at my place, while I stay around to host her.

With this, there are things I have already planned with her, as we would definitely be enjoying ourselves at home. And being my sister, it seems I won't be doing much work but leaving most of the chores to her while I concentrate more on my work online, hoping for a job offline.

Let's see how the months of July and August turn out. Probably, there will be something exciting with my friends, as I can't wait to go out with them and enjoy seeing new places in the world. @moremoney28 already suggested Paris; at least I've got a passport ready, and he will definitely be responsible for the flight and all of that. That guy is capable and rich 😄

So for now, aside from the ones I mentioned, the next holiday would be with my family at the end of the year. I'm already working towards that, as it's 100% possible we would contribute money to buy loads of foodstuffs that would go round to everyone coming home to celebrate with us. God help us all.
