Holidays are good, but...

Holidays are good. In fact, they are necessary for relaxation and just getting away from the daily workload. Work without play makes Jack a dull boy, and in this case, work without holidays makes a worker break down.

Or how do we say that an individual keeps working and has no time to relax, and is not free from the stress, and then collapses even in the middle of finalising a project? Let me tell you, within a few days, someone else would replace the seat. That is life.

I love that holidays are given to make people stay back home and enjoy some free time for a period of time before returning back to work to continue the hustle. Though many people work from home and the reason for the flexibility is to allow them the free time to rest.

Just like me today, I gave myself some free time away from my screen to do other relaxing activities like listening to music, loosening my hair and retouching it.

But holidays shouldn't be longer than it ought to be.

I don’t need more holidays because I am always at home, and basically, it’s always free time because I get to do my work when I need to, because there’s a common slang that says, “I cannot kill myself.”

Working without resting or giving myself some days off isn’t ideal for my health and peace of mind. This is something a lot of people struggle with all in the name of hustling and when you ask them to rest, they tell you that man must work until their obituaries are posted or they develop some ailment.

My country’s calendar is a good one and looking at it, the holidays are enough already. Adding more holidays would mean a lack of structure to me and wouldn’t favour the country’s economy.

People go out to make money, and aside from that, it helps them to avoid staying indoors all the while. For instance, when the children are on holiday from school, the parents start to count the calendar because they can’t wait for school to resume so they can get back to school, allowing them to focus on some things without distractions.

Besides, having more holidays won’t help the kids at all because their memories need to be refreshed every time. For some, their parents wouldn’t have the time to help them in that regard.

Another thing is that I do notice that during holidays, bike men are always scarce, so most people who go out to sell would complain of not getting to their shops on time because of a lack of transportation, but during working hours, you’d see them begging you to take a bike. Lol. The bike people are also affected because there wouldn't be sales, and that means struggling to feed themselves and their families.

A lot of people also depend on working hours to market their goods to these workers, and if holidays keep getting longer, it will affect their goods, thereby making them unable to feed themselves. Everyone is out there hustling in different ways, and for most of them, their means of survival lies during working hours rather than holidays.

In summary, I don't think there should be any more holidays than the ones fixed on the calendars for each year, and you know, too much of something isn’t a good thing; it has its own disadvantages and being minimal will do much better than the opposite. People are struggling out there and if adding more holidays would stop them from making sales, I don’t think it’s a good idea because the economy will definitely be affected.

I think I like the way holidays are structured in our country so far. It's enough already and observing holidays helps us to be refreshed..both adult and children
Excess holiday wouldn't be too good for the economy

I totally get your point holidays are important for rest, but too many can affect both the economy and people’s daily hustle. Balance is really the key: enough time to relax without disrupting survival and productivity.
