Apologizing for what you did wrong is never a bad thing because it’s a thing of the mind; it should come from the mind, but most people nowadays just do it simply because they want to move on quickly or probably because they need the person they offended so badly in their life.
Now to talk of influencers online who always make silly mistakes and then come back with apology videos, crying their eyes out so that their fans could think they are sorry for their wrongdoing.
I wouldn’t say all of them coming to make apology videos are not genuinely sorry, but we are in an era where people would do more than what you can imagine to make money and keep their social media accounts active since that is where they make money, so I would say out of 100% of them apologizing online, 70% of them are not truly sorry; they just want their followers and fans to forget what they did and then move on quickly, which is very bad.
I am not sure some of their apologies hold any weight because today you would see an influencer apologizing for being reckless online, and the next morning you would see them bragging about it online, which I think is not right.
When someone is truly sorry for their mistakes, they would feel sober enough to approach their fans and followers, so I don’t think some of those people running down online to make apology videos are truly sorry. I don’t know about others, but if I were in the position, I might go offline for some time because I wouldn't be able to face the camera knowing that the whole world is going to watch it.
There was a celebrity who posted her sex tape, and when people addressed the issue at first, she lied that it wasn’t her who posted the video, and she then noticed that her fans and followers were not buying the lies, so she came up with an apology video crying in front of the camera that she wasn’t mentally stable, that sometimes she did some things that she would regret later.
She pleaded, and of course she got people’s attention because here in my country we do believe fake stories, news, and people more than the real ones. Even sometimes we know that person is lying, and still we would keep following them and believing them.
The next thing we saw was that she started posting again and then bragging about her sex tape online. Such a person is not sorry for anything; she just wanted to move on quickly onto the next thing on her mind.
If I should find myself in such situations, I might disappear from social media forever because it’s a shameful act that I will never be proud of or happy about. But no, some people have sold their heart, self, dignity, life, and everything that has to do with them to become who they are now, so all those scandalous things don’t affect their mind anymore.
We are the ones allowing them to fool themselves with fake apology videos because if we don’t believe them, they wouldn’t do something unreasonable over and over again and then come up with fake apologies.
In this day and age, people can do different things just to get more followers which in turn means, more money. Celebrities even fake disputes just for attention. Apology video is not an exemption. They can falsify it and not really mean what they say
