I hate to say this, but it’s the truth: when it comes to anything that has to do with government in my country, just zero your mind because it’s nothing to write home about.
It is not new anymore in my country that people in power only care about themselves and their families, so I am not surprised at anything they do or whatever I hear about them.
Now to talk of doctors going on strike, haha, it's just like we purposely want people to die of sickness because the government in my country that I know doesn’t care about anyone or anything, so going on strike will just make the situation worse.

There was a time all government workers tried such a thing; everyone went on strike, including people in charge of electricity, for you guys to know how serious it was back then, but doctors never agreed to that because they knew the danger in it if they should join the strike.
People began to talk that they must have taken bribes from the government, and that is why they never wanted to join the strike, but later after the strike, doctors went on strike as well. I got to know this because I have a sister who is a nurse, so she came home to relax for some time.
It was said by her that the main reason for the strike is for the government to increase their salaries and, of course, recruit more doctors and nurses so that there will be enough people to help in the hospital.
The strike didn’t last for a week before they were called back; it was said that the government had agreed to increase their salaries, so everyone returned back to work, but later they didn’t get the increment as planned. They only did it for higher doctors, and the rest were neglected.
My sister, who is a nurse, always complained about how small her salary was when she was working in a private hospital, so she switched back to a government hospital, and her situation got worse because there is nobody to complain to or face to ask for an increment, so she has been managing herself all this while.

The last time we spoke, I still asked if there is any higher doctor in their hospital that she can complain to—maybe if all the nurses agreed to complain together—but she said even the higher doctors are still complaining about how small their salaries are, so they are just coping with what they are getting for now.
So to answer the prompt question, going on strike will never sort the problem out, and it will only affect patients because they will be the ones to suffer from the strike.
People get sick every day, and imagine if doctors are on strike—who will attend to the sick people who are already in the hospital and those who are still coming to the hospital? That means we only want to do unnecessary mass burials in the country because our government does not take medication here in the country, so they don’t care who is sick or dying.
In civilized nations strike always bring the eyes of the government to what the people needs but my country is different. Politician said that the government is not in any way after the needs of the people and I tend to believe that until I see a change
My sister everything about Nigeria is different entirely because even after the strike the government will still do what it is on their mind
They surely how to make people’s life miserable
Their salary structure is very poor, the government does not care at all, they didn't invest in our health care and this is causing problems to the poor Nigerian who cannot afford a private hospital
Am telling you our government didn’t care about anything that has to do with citizens after all they get their treatment abroad and not here
If doctors are on strike who would attend to the patients? The government should improve their salaries and the teachers that taught the doctors as well.
That’s the question they should ask themselves before going on strike unless they are ready for mass burial
