Love

A lot of people tell different stories of how boring or tragic their previous relationships was and how they don't plan on being in one any time soon. Sometimes I do agree with them because not everyone can be so lucky when it comes to love. Some times we end up with the wrong people and we experience heartbreaks that no one should ever experience in their life time, but there are also the lucky ones, the ones who met the real ones and they're loving every step of their relationship with that person every day.

The other day, a friend of mine who had traveled for about a month, called and told me he was on his way back but he had pleaded with me not to tell his girlfriend he was coming back. This was because he had told her earlier that he would be returning two days later.

So I played along and didn't say anything. Besides, there was no way I could snitch because she had already left for work and I didn't have her number. So when he arrived, he had asked me to accompany him to her place of work. At first I wondered why he wanted me to go with him to surprise his girlfriend but the moment we got there, it didn't take long for me to know why. The stupid boy had placed me on camera man duties.

When we got to her place of work, we made sure not to make any noise and when we eventually got to her desk (she was writing something on her desk and didn't look up), I called her name quietly and the moment she looked up, I saw different types of emotions flash through her face in a second. It went from being surprised I was at her place of work, to being shocked at who was standing right next to me, and then the moment her brain registered who it was, happiness.

She jumped up from that seat and flew right into his arms. I tried being the best photographer and captured everything but I was sure that if there had been someone else with a camera somewhere filming all of it, then you all would had seen me smiling from ear to ear. It was such a beautiful moment that I probably would had shed a tear if I wasn't trying to be a "hard guy".

Moments like that is what restores my fate in relationships and love. It tells me that there are some people out there who are having the best of times with their partners and knowing that is more than enough reason to make me want to love again even if I get my heart broken.
