Hello Everyone,
Education is one of the most important aspects of life, no one wants a to miss out from.
Gone are those days when people don't really value education in Nigeria, but these days people see the very need to get their children to school even if it's not to the Highest University or master levels.
I remember in the olden days in some parts of Nigeria,
People will only chose one person out of the family to go to school, mostly maybe the last born of the family, it doesn't really matter the gender, so one person goes to school and the other ones works in the farm and sponsor both the person and the families.
But fast forward to now, this present computer age, every one knows the importance of education, although the phrase: school na scam (which means school is a scam) is very largely used but trust me people now know better and the all value Education.
But there is a big hinderance on Getting good Education and that Is MONEY
Education has the power to transform lives and societies. But there are Frustrations in the process, because despite progress, inequality persists. Determination, because I believe that together, we can create a more just and equitable education system.
The current State of Education in Nigeria
It's no more a news that Nigeria's education system faces numerous challenges, including inadequate funding, poor infrastructure, and unequal access to quality education. Many schools lack basic facilities, and teachers are often underpaid and undertrained, there are many times the civil servants and workers go on strikes but to no avail. This has resulted in a system where students from wealthy backgrounds have access to better education, while those from disadvantaged backgrounds are left behind.
The effects of inequality in education are far-reaching.
Just like I earlier said, Money is one big challenge, this is why Students from poor backgrounds are more likely to drop out of school, perform poorly in exams, and have limited opportunities for further education and employment. This perpetuates a cycle of poverty and inequality, making it difficult for individuals to break free.
Money is a very vital for everything, even in the family and this also means that Money plays a significant role in Nigeria's education system. The lack of funding has resulted in:
Inadequate infrastructure
In Nigeria Many schools lack basic facilities, such as classrooms, libraries, and laboratories.
Poor teacher training: Teachers are often underpaid and undertrained, which affects the quality of education.
Limited access to resources: I would have dropped out too because of money, it just that I was very hardworking and I hustle my way around some payments, usually Students from poor backgrounds often lack access to textbooks, technology, and other resources that are essential for learnings
The solution to this issue is not farfetched,
A lasting solution can happen when the Government Increases government funding and allocate more resources to education and ensure that funds are used effectively.
Also there have to be Public-private partnerships, a kind of l Collaboration between the government and private sector can help bridge the funding gap and improve education outcomes.
Finally the Community has to be heavily involved and invested.
Some communities needs to be more involved in The Educational systems and they have to be more aware of the importance of Equality in Education.
A system of Education that favours both Boys and Girls, Rich and Poor.
Thank you and Have a great Day ❤️👍✌️
Thankfully the awareness has been on rampage and lots of people in rural areas aren't taking education with levity at all.
Yeah that's true
