Why I Believe This Is The Best Era.

Honestly, to me, I think every generation feels their own time is special. I usually hear people saying that the olden days were better than this time because life was more peaceful and simple then. While some people believe this modern era is the best because of technology and the way the world has improved compared to the olden days. But for me, I feel happy to be born in this era even though this era has many problems of its own.
Sometimes when I think about how people lived many years ago, I realize that life was not easy at all. During the olden days, there were no smartphones, internet, or any fast means of communication. Imagine wanting to talk to your family or friends that were living far away, you would have to wait for days, weeks, or even months before receiving letters or hearing from them, trekking far away to their farm, they use hoes and cutlass in their farms because things were not easy back then. But now, with just smartphones, we can chat, call, or even do video calls with our family and friends. Imagine the joy of seeing the face of your family or friends living far away from you through a video call, that is how much technology has advanced.
Just like yesterday, while talking to my elder siblings through a video call, I was happy seeing their faces, and I was happy knowing they were healthy. And that is something I really appreciate about this era. Because of advancement, things are developing and moving faster.
Technology has really made life easier in many ways. Imagine students learning things online, such as courses, doing assignments, and many other things. People can also promote their businesses on social media, and many things can now be done from home, such as remote jobs. Even in hospitals, treatment is much better than before because of technology. If something is wrong with a patient in the hospital, doctors can easily detect where the problem is with machines and operate on it. But during the olden days, if something was wrong, there were no machines to detect it and no fast drugs to cure illnesses quickly. But today, medicine and healthcare have improved a lot.
At the same time, I know and understand why people say they love the olden days. According to my late grandma, people spent time together, did things together, neighbours cared for each other, families bonded together, and children respected their elders deeply. She said there were no phones for distraction and that everything was easy and simple, even though life was still hard in some ways. But these days, many people spend more time online than with the people around them.
During the olden days, there was not much competition or comparing themselves with others. But this era comes with pressure. Social media makes people compare themselves with others. The reason why I like this era more than the olden days is because there are many opportunities. If someone wants to learn a skill, they can easily search for it online and learn it. Imagine the olden days when there were talented people but no opportunity for them to be seen or heard. But now, talented people are showcasing their talents to the extent that they have their own platforms where people follow them and they can show themselves to the world.
In conclusion, I would love to say more about why this era is better than the olden days, but I will stop here. I will just say that no era is completely perfect. Every era has its good and bad sides. The olden days had peace and simple living, while this era has technology, better opportunities, and advancements in many things.
