When Going Viral Comes at a Cost.

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Hive-Learners, which says:Going Viral. So, let's dive in.

To be honest, I don't think going viral is worth risking our lives or our freedom. These days, we see people doing all kinds of crazy things just to go viral and want people to notice them. Some take on crazy and dangerous challenges, like faking an accident and pretending that their leg is broken, etc. All because they want people to notice them and they want likes, views, comments, and followers.

I won't lie, I understand why some of them do that. To say the truth: social media has made us believe that one viral video can change someone's life overnight. Yes, I won't lie that social media has helped many people, but honestly, it comes with a price. Today we are just ordinary people without a name, and tomorrow everybody knows our name. We start getting likes and followers, brands want to work with us, and bam, we begin making money. Because of stories like this, people start believing that taking big risks is the only way to make it.

What many people don't think about is that it doesn't always end well. For every one person that becomes famous, there are many others who end up getting hurt, embarrassed, or even arrested. The saddest part is that some of those videos don't even go viral, and after risking everything, they gain nothing from it.

Personally, I feel there are many better ways to get people's attention. If you have a talent, showcase it. If you are funny and can make people laugh, then create content of it. If you can sing well, showcase it. If you know something that can help others, share it. Yes, it may take more time before people notice you, but at least you won't have to put your life at risk just because you want to trend or go viral one day.

And one thing that people don't know or understand is that the internet never forgets. Once you post something and people see it, they keep sharing it, making it go even more viral. You may laugh and be happy about what you did today, but later in life it could become something you wish you never did.

For example, look at what happened to one social media content creator who lied that she had cancer and even forged it by showing another person's medical report. People felt sorry for her and started contributing money until it was discovered that she was lying. Because of that, she was arrested by the EFCC. Now imagine losing a good opportunity and your fame just because of one video you made just to chase clout. That would be painful, and you would keep regretting it.

The truth is, if I ever become viral one day, I would rather it be because of something good. I don't want people to remember me for something dangerous I did just to get their attention.

In conclusion, I know one viral video can change someone's life. It can bring money, fame, and many opportunities. But let's not forget that it can also bring regret, problems, or even cost someone life. For me, no amount of views or followers is worth risking my life.
