Can My School Determine My Success?

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Hive-Learners, which says:The School You Go To. So let's dive in.

Truth is, when people talk about education, one thing that often comes up is the school someone attended. We have some people who feel that going to a prestigious university gives a person a better chance of succeeding in life, while we also have people who believe that education is education no matter where it comes from. Personally, I think the school we go to does matter, but not as much as the effort we put into our studies and personal growth.

One thing I believe, and will always believe, is that school can give us exposure. The environment we are in, whether in school or at home, lecturers, friends, and even the people we meet can have a great impact on our lives. Sometimes, we learn things outside school that become just as important as what we learn during lectures. There are also times when what we are not taught in school, we learn outside of it.

The friends we make can influence us negatively or positively. Our friends can encourage us, challenge us, and even introduce us to opportunities we may never have discovered on our own. In that sense, the school we attend can shape our experiences and influence the kind of person we become.

During my first year in school, I met some friends who helped me adjust to campus life and still my friends. But that experience made me realize that the people we meet in school can influence our life either negative or positive.

If I will say the truth, I do not think attending a famous or prestigious school can guarantee our success. I have seen people from less popular schools succeed greatly, and that's because of how determined and hardworking they were. On the other hand, I have also seen people who went to highly prestigious schools struggle because they did not make good use of the opportunities given to them.

I know of someone who attended a prestigious and famous school, studied a good course, and later ended up selling minerals. This is why I believe that success depends more on the individual than on the institution. The truth that people don't know is that knowledge can be found almost anywhere today. Two people can attend different schools and still gain the same knowledge if they are willing to put in the effort.

I'm still a student, but let's assume that I'm done with school and had the opportunity to go back. I am not sure I would change my school because every stage of our lives teaches us something valuable.

Yes, there are times when I wonder what it would have been like to study in another university. However, I do not think that alone would have completely changed my future.

In conclusion, does the school we go to matter? Yes, it does matter in many ways. But to me, I believe that what matters even more is what we do while we are there. The lessons we learn, the relationships we build, and the effort we put into our growth and studies will have a great impact on our future than the name of the school itself.

Even when we attend the best university, without our full intention or determination to learn and become useful, it all becomes useless
