Wild Life
When i was a kid, I always have a dream of going to the zoo. I love domestic animals so much to the extent that i would cry when chicken is killed in my home. Though i've outgrown that stage, but it was actually a nice memory now that i remembered it.
The zoo is actually fun and educative place to be in. Many animals are on display for people to view and have a good time. Its quite nice how a lot of animals are placed on display.
Up till date, i have not actually been to the zoo. I guess its prolly because i have not yet put my mind to it yet.
Though we enjoy a visit to the zoo, i can help it but wonder how the animals in that cage perceive things. Do they see it to be as fun as we view it to be? or are they silently praying that someone will free them from the metals of the cage they are in.
Hive learners have come again with another thought provoking topic. This is my response to the prompt topic, ALL ABOUT THE ZOO.
Though we, humans, are literally top in the food chain and we posses more intelligence than any other known animal, I don't think we should capture animals and put them in a zoo. I don't really see the need of having a zoo to cage these wild animals when they can be returned to their natural habitat.
I think animals will be better off in the wild where the laws of the jungle apply. A lion may not be able to properly hunt if its not in the wild where it belongs. I think that these animals are cool where they are,
Nobody loves being in a cage as it restricts the level of freedom they have. they will not be able to move around freely neither will they be happy in such small space. Same thing applies to wild animals. Their natural habitat is a place that is not compacted. A place where hunting is the order of the day, and freedom is not restricted.
However, not all animals can made for wild life. Domestic animals serves as mans pet or any other thing, while the wild animals can not fit this role. So, it will not be a nice to to keep them caged in a zoo against their will.
In my perspective, the only animals that should be kept in a zoo are those ones that are being treated for an illness or when they are being preserved from going extinct. After the goals have been accomplished, i think they should be sent back to the wild where they belong. I don't think they should be kept in a zoo for any purpose. If somebody wants to see wild animals, they should get themselves a guide, and go to the wild. There, they will get all the experience they seek.

Truly all this animals deserves to be in their natural habitat, not cage down in the zoo, unless maybe the animals are sick or going extinct.

Animals needs some care and attention too. But my fear is when they begin to attack humans and do as they like.

In addition to what you wrote there are animals that are shown that they can die when in captivity or change their behaviour a lot, such as whales and dolphins.
true, but still, they are sometimes not allowed back to their natural habitat.
I don't think there is need to cage these animals though.
